So far I have tested in

versions 2.7, 2.6.7, 2.6.6, 2.6.5

and seems to work fine.

But I wont be supporting any older versions of WB.
I am Currently working on this for version 2.7+

Hello JohnP,

could you name some benefits of using tinyMCE instead of FCK?

I would give it a try, but I don't really know why.
Since 2.7 we have the FCK Editor implemented, and I find it works very fine...

Sorry for the delay in first release, but I am trying to close a permission problem within the plugin for tinyMCE, it comes with its own username/password that has to be set before you can upload this to your WB installation or the media file is wide open and what I am trying to do is turn admin access for this file over to wb to control and verify you are the admin logged in.

Once I get this under control I will release for beta.

To help speed this up
any ideas would be great.

TinyMCE has been lacking the feature of image browser. Apart from that it has a better cutomizing capability over FCK. For example you can create a javascript rollover buttons using TinyMCE.

Hello John,
now I understand your efforts to upgrade this module.
I installed it for testing and the functionality of the Ajax based picture handling is amazing.
Thats a really cool thing.

// Edit
Another great thing is the loading time (even if you have more WYSIWYG Sections). Its very FAST.
It's caused by the "css sprites" trick. the modul uses one big picture with a collection of icons instead of one picture for every icon. This enormous speeds up.
//Edit 2
One thing I miss is the WB Link function.  afro
Another one is the german language file  grin
//

Best,
Stefek

Tried and the image editing is great.

Some bugs in IE 6 and FF still.

IE 6:

Layout of the browser is a little off and the header area goes missing on resize.
Also have trouble with moving the editor around.

FF:

Saving edited image doesn't work

IE & FF

Cant copy and paste.

Great contribution. The table layouts in the WYSIWYG areas is great.

You should to be using the latest versions of IE7 and or Firefox 2.0.0.14 along with WB 2.7  SVN Rev. 836.

No longer supporting WB 2.6.x versions for this module.

No longer supporting earlier versions below IE7 and Firefox 2.0.0.14

I've installed and tested your module.

First of all, thanks again for the module

These are the bugs I found;

1. It takes much longer to load than the fck editor (maybe it was a moment of bad connection but it loaded much longer for me).
2. On the insert link to WB page the button names are missing (I've attached a print screen).
3. The page break doesn't work (though I presume it is not meant to work in WB anyway so I'm not sure it is a bug).
4. "Insterd WB link" doesn't work not on text nor on images.
5.  There are no templates - if there should be - how do I make them?

This is the testing page http://www.websitebakerden.com/demo/pages/aqueous/tinymce-test.php
I like the rollover javascript possibility that's why I like tinyMCE (see the rollover button) - that gives the ability to create custom rollover menu.

Shouldn't take any longer to load. but I will test times.

2. On the insert link to WB page the button names are missing (I've attached a print screen).
I am currently trying to figure out some things with the WBmodule.
As you are aware this was not my add-on module as stated.
It was originally ported for WB using FCKeditor.
I am currently trying to port it in to TinyMCE.

3. The page break doesn't work (though I presume it is not meant to work in WB anyway so I'm not sure it is a bug).
I will look into this.

4. "Insterd WB link" doesn't work not on text nor on images.
I think this is part of question 2

5.  There are no templates - if there should be - how do I make them?
Just got that add-on working and hope to have some sample templates added in the
upcoming versions

I have a suggestion.

If it is possible to read pre-defined css tags - for example, if I define a .button {} class - for a regular user it's unconvenient to use the advanced option, and from what I know it's possible to add more buttons.

So, for example if I use <div class="button">text</div> it will create some fancy button.

Until now, I've created templates using h1 - h6 tags, while defining h6 to be a button or a fancy heading because it's not likely a user will need to use six types of header.

Choosing a pre-defined style type will add great power to the templates.

For example, I could define 10 images of a link using 10 different classes - .c1 will use img1.jpg .c2 will use img2.jpg etc...

A user will be able to create links, custom menus etc making each link a different one (contact page, home page etc) - and all this without needing to leave the WYSIWYG editor.

I hope I've explained my point - if this is possible I'm sure it'll be a great add.

Another suggestion is to call for a custom code.

For example - I use javascript news ticker or just a marquee commad. Instead of guessing where the person will want his scrolling news and putting it inside the template, why not make the code pre-defined like the template from tinyMCE. So when a user presses that button the code chunk will be pasted there.

It's good for non-tech users to be able to use the anews module better. breadcrumbs etc... Instead of pasting code inside a code area it will be more simple to just click a pre-defined button.

When I think of a website I create I always think of some 60 y/old lawyer or a doctor I create a website for. He only wants to use WYSIWYG and nothing more - explaining to him what a code area is will not work because he doesn't even want to listen. As far as he concerns he wants maximum flexabilty with minimum effort. That's why WB is a very good CMS - it's so darn simple...

There's a proffessional term called "KISS" which means "Keep It Simple Stupid". It doesn't mean one underestimate the intelligence of a client, but the more simple things are the better  afro

Predefined Templates Module within TinyMCE 3.0.9 Complete

I have implemented this add-on as a simple way to store 'Predefined simple Templates'.
This add-on is not a replacement for the current WB template structure although
it's original design concept is to add template support to a WYSIWYG Editor.

So I implemented the template module to help in the WB design Experience in helping
you to create a CMS page within WB quick any easy by setting predefined templates
it cuts down the design process in creating your content you would just select template icon
select the predefined template insert it into you page add content save your done..

In reply to your question about fonts to add, i'm going to advise against it. The current listed Fonts are the main generic fonts found across most operating systems. By adding additional fonts, you are probably going to run into many problems with cross-platform compatibility. Also, for users who don't know what they're doing, the difference in fonts can cause issues. For instance, if you added the font "comic sans" and the user set the size to 10 and aligned everything that way, users on OSX will fall back to the next font in the font family or the default O/S font which will render in a different size than "comic sans" and the alignments will all be off.

(I know comic sans is already there, i just used it to illustrate as if it hadn't been there)

Font Surveys: http://www.webspaceworks.com/resources/fonts-web-typography/48/

If that's of no matter than more fonts can be added regardless of this compatibility issue.

Also, i've fixed up the WBModule to add wblinks if anybody's interested.
