Hi everyone,
I am look for over an hour for a simple script to "take down" my website whenever i trigger it to (though a simple backend?)
i need to take down the site in specific times - in which the people trying to view the website will only be able to get the html page i designed for these cases.

Is there such a thing?
Thanks

Not really shutting down, but you could just create a template without a page_content() and without a show_menu() etc..
Put a nice fixed message explaining your site is not available.

Switch to that template through the WB backend whenever you want the site to be off-line.

Take a look on "Intro Pages" in the Doku.

Take a look on "Intro Pages" in the Doku.

Using an intropage, bookmarks and searchengine results would still enter the website on pages "patgod" don't want to show at that time.

Using a "no content" template keeps the page working (no google penalty) but with "fixed" content.

But there is another problem coming up with this solution.
If the googlebot / crawler comes while your page is down, there is nothing to crawl.  wink

your page is not down.

WB displays the page fine. Only the template doesnt show content.

that must have something to do with shutting down the website  cool

Technically you could detect the googlebot, and let him show the content.
I don't think that was part of the original question. cheesy
