I just finished my first WB project (www.picoplan.nl) and want to add a search-engine site map to this site;

I noticed that viulian developed a module, unfortunately its "outdated".

Two questions:
1. Is there any interest for such a module / is anyone already started with this module?
  (I would like to make it for current 2.6 release and upcoming 2.7 release)

2. My knowledge of WB is not good enough to make it automatically run if you update a WB-page; I am thinking of a solution of have to call a certain page to update the map. (Like the old module did); is this acceptable?

I am planning to the follow the guide on sitemaps.org; Search engines like Google, Yahoo! and Microsoft follow these guidelines.

Thanks in advance...

Hi Jeroen,

I think a website should be good searchable, this sitemapgenerator helps with it.

So for 1. Yes Wink

For 2.
If you want to recreate the map each time a page is updated/added/deleted you need to hook your routine in core files wich could easely break after updating wb
You can hook it as function in the template thus updating on every page wich seems too much
On a certain page seems best or as an adminfunction in the backend

If you need help, you have my mailaddress and phonenumber Wink

@Jeroen-
I have been using this module to generate a sitemap.xml file for quite a while. What is outdated? Is the XML not correct?

I simply use a cron to run the script once a week to update the XML file. A feature to generate it each time a page is touched would be nice.

@Marathone
When trying to downloading this module I read [attachment deleted because of being too old]; I got confused and expected the whole module is outdate...

Reading the thread again (this morning) I see I can download on other place I expected  embarassed

My mistake; thanks for pointing me in the right direction  wink
