Hi WB lovers.

When I create a simple contact form with captcha enabled I have the following problem.
I fill out the form and fill a wrong (or none) captcha code.
Next I will get a page telling me the captcha was wrong, together with a "back" link (actually a go(-1) javascript).

When I go back using that link, the captcha is not refreshed. (FF displays the old one, IE7 displays a broken image)
The next submit (with a wrong or empty - or the correct old - captcha) displays an empty page with just the word "error".

If I don't use the "back" link but reload the page by clicking my normal menu, I get the page filled with all previous content and a fresh captcha.

I have had this problem on my sites on WB2.6.7, but also with WB2.7 RC1 and the brand new RC2.

Does anybody have an explanation why this is happening, and why I don't see this problem described on the forum more times?

Thanks,

Ruud

Hi,

I've never heard about this problem before, so I checked it just with some installations from 2.6.5 to 2.7RC2 -  no problem, all work as it should.
Think this is a problem outside WB, but where ...  huh

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice, there is.

It happens on different browsers on different machines. So it shouldn't be browser caching.

I now suspect my testserver.
I disabled all caching on the server which is handy for testing CSS modifications, but for some reason I don't even see a call in my logs for a new captcha.

Because my problems with the captcha on my test platform I actually never use them on production sites.
So now I did a quick check on one of my production sites, and there it seems to work better. (2.6.7 - not refilling the fields, but it is generating a new captcha).

I am using SAMBAR (rip) server on a windows machine. I think I will have to start setting up a *nix server to get an environment that is better comparable with my production sites.

Thanks for your responses anyway,
