Imagemanager

Hi,
I'm currently looking for an imagemanager integrating with WB which works like the Soderlind Imagemanager, for more info:
http://www.soderlind.no/archives/2006/01/03/imagemanager-20/
This is a plugin created for Wordpress and absolutely perfect for certain types of websites. What I have so far not found in any of the WB modules is the function of Soderlind's plugin which allows insertion (anywhere) of a generated thumbnail, which can be preset in administration to what is needed, which then calls for a large image popup.
Thus two questions:
1. Is there sth like this for WB and I maybe just didn't find it?
2. If there's nothing like this, how difficult would an integration of this plugin be with WB?
Greetings

Hi,
for a while I tried to configure "KFM - Kae's File Manager", which is the best file and image-manager I ever saw. Unfortunately, I didn´t get it work on WB. Have a look at:
http://kfm.verens.com/home
.
From the website you can download a special KFM-Version for the Fckeditor.
You can find a post from my try here:
http://www.websitebaker2.org/forum/index.php/topic,5336.msg46134.html#msg46134
(german only).
If you have an idea to make it work in WB, please post it here. KFM is much better than Soderlind´s Imagemanager.
Greetings

Hi,
thanks for the tip, but I am no coder. So not a chance.
As to which is better, Soderlind's imagemanager is absolutely perfect for sites to be turned over to clients. It's stable, it's dead easy to use, it's understandable even for clients not much into the net or software. Which is precisely what I need in combination with an easy to use CMS. For such people any convoluted software has no pluses, only negatives. What a nerd may find lovely and interesting, only baffles them. I've installed Soderlind's manager on more than five dozen WP sites for complete novice users and all of them produce exactly what they want and need with it. That's pretty unbeatable
Cheers

You might want to try this:
http://fckeditor.prosjektweb.net/
An fckeditor mod for an image editor which is pretty simple yet has the basic functions such as resize/rotate/crop/rename, etc. Might be easier to take the current WB version of fckeditor and modify it by integrating this version.
I may get some time to look at doing this but I don't actually have the need for it right now and need to spend time on other projects (such as a decent banner manager for WB).

Wow.
I'm impressed.
Especially by the first one. You can even crop the images and do lot of other nice changes to the files.
Good for the Media inside the CMS.
The another one is good as plug-in for FCKe.
Is there someone who will have a closer look at this?

Hi,
played around with most of them about one year ago. Some of the image managers are tricky to integrate into the WebsiteBaker media and permission systems, some simply overrule WB in this respect.
However, in general it is not very hard to integrate an image manager for FCKEditor. There are many plugins and installation manuals for those image managers available.

you will we surprised by stuff like
http://www.ajaxprogrammer.com/?p=9
<- an online ajax image editor
http://www.phpletter.com/Demo/Ajax-File--Manager/
< - image manager with image editor
not to forget this one:
http://www.ajax-image-editor.com/demo/
where you can actually place text on the pic, place a watermark of your choice on the pic etc etc ...
from here on, anything more advanced is allmost photoshop online like f.i.:
http://htmlblog.net/demo/pixidou/
http://www.drpic.com/
http://www.sumopaint.com/web/
( somehow my favorite )
http://www.splashup.com/
http://www.picnik.com/
and offcourse, an online version of the mastertool itself

Hi,
also tried some Ajax image mangers a year ago, but removed them from my clients site due to security issues. So I did not dive any further since about 1 year now.
At the moment, I have no real need for those stuff as my clients use customized WB modules which take care of image resizing or watermarking without interaction of the user. However, still an interesting field and maybe somebody takes it up again.
