<<<< SOLVED  **** Found answer to the XTD News Module in this post http://forum.websitebaker.org/index.php/topic,1034.0.html ****
The question about the date in news 2..6.1.9 is now mute because the XTD module seems to work well.>>>>

I am running wb 2.6.7 and I have installed the core replacement to News version 2.6.1.9.  What I would like to do is enter a news article and have it start on a specified date and expire on a specified date.  I though 2.6.1.9 might do that but it doesn't seem to.

One question is 'What is the date entry for?'  I put in a date with the date control for the news article and the only thing it seems to do is show in the news details as the post date.  Does anyone know what this date is for?

The second question is that I have seen references in the forum to an 'XTD News module'.  It sounds like that might do what I want but I can't find it anywhere.  Does anyone know

1 - Does it exist?
2 - Does it have start and expire functionality?
3 - Where can it be found?

I did find infromation on having sections start and expire but I am more interested in news articles.

I hope this isn't a well covered subject because I did scour the forum for information before posting.

Thanks for any help,
Ed
