When you offer that, you will, in a couple of years, end up with a huge database of (ex)users that subscribed.
Secondly, you will need to register everybody to get valid email addresses.

Hi Ruud

Yes, your right, this is a problem, but it can be solved...
If you really want to feature a good service - and I think the amasp project aims to do so - it's important to put in time and effort!
Double opt-in registration, an unsubscribe link in the notification and a checking - from time to time - if notifications are still of note should be possible.

Hello

Aldus released his first (hot) alpha-version of AMASP-Control.

It is a backend admin tool und you are able to see all modules and snippets and all informations and links directly from your own installation.

Please test it and let us know, what is improvable.

Download it from: http://www.wbmod.bplaced.net/pages/admin-tools/amasp-control.php

Even if I get those massages...

... the module itself is running.

Great idea.

What I would put on the "WishList":
Being able to sort:
- alphabetical order
- modules installed
- modules where is a newer upgrade available
- newest first

But I can imagine that you're already working on this. Don't you?

You are totally right.
Aldus is working on that module.
But wishes are welcome, we asked you to do that.

A comparison of installed version and available version is already on the to do list.

And the sort-wishes will find my support.

BTW: Are you interested in writing a lean docomentation for that module (and for the modul-information too)?

I mean a " how to".

You can start in our "denglish" and we will try hard to find a good english speaking person to translate it into "real language".
Maybe you start it in german and i will put into denglish?

Whatever you want.........

I wonder how far you will go with this AMAS-Project in combination with this AMASP-Control.

Maybe a good thing would be, if there was a blinking gif for modules where there is update available.

Another point I would wish, if there was a column for the Modules Group (like Snippet, Page-Tool, Admin-Tool etc.).

Ok - here comes the current 0.1.6 alpha within some
new things like sorting by name, type, or last update.

There is also a rudimentäry comparison with the installed modules;
but unless the names are not equal they would not be found yet.

Update to 0.1.8 is online.
This version will be the last alpha.

As there are changes in the WB-Database you are in the need of deinstall older versions
and reinstall the modul.

I've also open an new thread for future informations.

Hello

for there were some questions about the AMASP-Project in the German forum I want to write it in this thread too:

The AMASP-Project started at the end of August 2008 because users were tired of installing and testing  modules and snippets to see, how the special modules/snippets are functioning.
There was an unofficial list (at the start of this thread) of tomhung and that was the base of the AMASP-Project.
The aim of the AMASP Project is to serve a complete list of all existing and functioning modules and snippets for wb 2.7., serve the latest version for download ( pages are modified by the developers/authors) and to give users an idea, how the modules /snippets are working.
In the meantime Aldus had created the module AMASP-Control that allows - by using the admin tools - to get access to the AMASP-Server. So you can control your versions from the wb backend and donload directly from the backend latest version of all modules and snippets if neccessary. That makes it really easy to control versions of all installed modules and snippets. So give it a try.
In addition to AMASP-Control you have to install the modul xc_form.

If you like the AMASP-Project we would appreciate a guestbook entry.

Thanks to all, who support this project.

It would be nice to have the ASAMP site and the main website baker site integrated so we could have a one stop shop for everything WB realted.  It might also be nice if thru ASAMP if there could be demos offered of each module.

Hi

every author is able to link to a demo from his page.
I am sorry too for only less authors make use of this.

Please keep in mind that AMASP is a private project and shows all (many?) modules and snippets.
The intention of AMASP is to give basic informations of all existing modules and snippets.

The modules on the official addons page must have another ( higher)  quality level.

I agree, Erpe.

But I hope that there will be a link someday at the 'official' Website leading to AMASP.
The huge amount of modules/snippets is quite impressive to people looking for "the right cms".
Should be offered openly.
