Here are two modules I wrote for website baker. One allows you to sort news arbitrarily, the other allows you to post multiple groups.

I just posted them on my blog for download and review.

EDIT: I should also mention there are more detailed instructions and screenshots on my blog.

So I haven't received any replies yet.  I think these are pretty good modules.

Any feedback?

I'll attach them here I guess.  But I'll need two posts since I can only attach one per post.   Here's the anews module.  It allows you to sort news by title or date.  It's pretty trivial.

NOTE: don't remove this using the uninstall as it will delete the news portion of your database.  This would be pretty easy to change, but since I use this as a replacement for news, I thought it might be good default behavior.

and here's the gnewswrapper, it allows you to post all entries from specific news groups.

oops, gnewswrapper had a bug on the install because I didn't zip it up right.  Here's a new one.  The one on the blog should also be correct

I think the idea behind these modules is good for many users.

For me personally (ad allso reason why I didn't reply before) is I can code some php and know the anynews module wich can be used to do allmost simular things.

The benefits in your modules lies in the fact that they are pretty easy to use, maybe more easier then anynews module for many users.

So I do consider this as a good addition to the growing number of modules.

Thanks!

John

PS, I know that feeling, coding, testing, trying, recoding etc
Posting and..... no reply.

Hope my message will make you smile again and start coding more Wink

Hi mopey
Thanks for your Newsmodules. I use the gnewswrapper and it works fine.
With the WB Version 2.7 now exists a problem with the start-time and the end-time function.
(I wrote a post here: http://www.websitebaker2.org/forum/index.php/topic,10233.0.html)

Is it possible to fix the problem as in the anynews snippet?

Thanks for your help.
