Home folders and how to upload files from the frontend?

Hi,

I am looking for the functionality to leave homework assignments for students in personalised folders where each student can return his/her work for review.
I am considering using the home folders feature, but how can I allow individual students (members) to upload the files from the frontend into their personal home folder?
Or any althernative way to achieve this.

Can't find anything similar here in any of these folders. Appreciate your help.
