For some reason the captcha image is not showing in the Guestbook module on one of my sites.  On the same server I have another account which is using the guestbook and the captcha shows fine.

Captcha Verification is enabled in the advanced settings.

Hello,

if you have found a solution why not posting it here? The thread exists now and may be usefull for other users as well.

I would have deleted the thread if I could have.  I had forgotten that I had modified the module earlier but obviously I did something wrong.  I just deleted the module, re-uploaded it and made my modifications again.  The only modifications I made were to make it more useful as a "Customer Reviews" page. Since my client only wants legitimate customers to be allowed to post, I also made it require authentication for posting comments via .htaccess. It now works perfectly.

Sorry, but when I tried to delete it, I got the message 'You cannot delete you own posts', or something like that.

With the new version I can't get it to show captcha either, the submit button has no text and when you press submit or should i say the very small button i get a warning pop up box with no text! Bizarre..and i have made no alterations at all, just uploaded it and trying to see what it looks like.

As it is I have the link to add to guestbook in main on right side, and for some reason the form comes up the top left! I would have thought it would have gone directly to main...am i missing something? Probably...

Well i will keep searching the forums... rolleyes

Update... grin Figured it out. Can't get Guestbook 2.0 to work, bits don't show and have no idea why, reverted to Guestbook 1.9 instead which is a real pain coz you have to uninstall and then reinstall, and if you have a page already it doesn't log it so you have to get rid of that too before it registers..such is life i guess.

As for position of results, it seemed to be a common theme with all the forms results they kept positioning themselves where the first content block was...so after a rework of blocks I have managed to get the bits working. smiley

Hello,

so you updated from guestbook 1.9 to 2.0. Wich version of WB do you use. If you use WB 2.6.7 the needed database updates should be made automatically. If you use a lower version you have to call the update script manually. In 2.0 there is captcha replaced with a calculate form, so it is normal that captch isn't displayed. From your description i think on update not all files are replaced due to permission issues or whatever.

Have you tried to install guestbook 2.0 as you deleted your old modul? I recommand to use version 2.0 as version 1.9 has no spam protection. Since i use 2.0 i got no more spams since weeks.
