Below you will find files which slightly alter the layout and appearance of the "Pages" section of your site's Admin area. The changes are:

1) The layout of the 'Modify/Delete Page' list is changed: there is no more 'visibility' column - the visibility icon now sits right next to the page title, and is also clickable, just like the name. There is also a new column, with a new icon: "Manage Sections", which allows you to go directly to the 'Manage Sections' section of the page (rather than having to first going into 'Modify' or 'Settings').

2) A new set of icons, for indicating page visibility states, and the different functions in the list.

These changes do not seem to cause any problems with any module or core area. They are also compatible with the upcoming 2.6.6 release.

Because they override a file in the core, however, whenever you upgrade WB in the future, these changes will be overwritten, and you will need to reinstall it again to get them back!

---------------------------------------------------
INSTALLATION
---------------------------------------------------
Download the attached zip file, and decompress it. Then, using your favourite ftp client, upload the files, overwritting the existing files in your WB installation.

For added security, do a backup of the existing files first!

Enjoy!

Hello Igor,

hey this is a cool feature. I like the changed pages design, especially the ability to have a "Manage Sections" icon. Also the new icons looks more modern and professional (except the trash  wink).

Thanks for your work

Hello,

thats why i love WB. It gives the ability for everone to change it (code and design) easily to their wishes and preferences. Design is always more a personal opinion. As for me the new function with the ability to go directly to the manage section page is the real great thing on this files, the icons have only a subordinated rule  grin. Again great work (icons included).  wink I'm pretty shure the most people like it and the rest is only my personal opinion.

Hello Igor,

I use the old icon set (except from the mangage sections icon) coming alogn with the default WB installation together with your modified /admin/pages/index.php file. This perfectly fits my customers needs.

Regards Christian

P.S.: After some further testing by the community, maybe we could add your changes somewhere to the addons repository; e.g. to the section Core file replacements, with a short image preview (old/new) and a short installation guide

just installed it today and think this is a great addition, the overview of the pages is just getting better and the manage section is a very nice addition to this overview of pages.

Great job on this module!

one suggestion for this page...

i dont really like for a user with limited access to see all of the pages.  there may be cases where a limited admin should only KNOW of their section.  you think this could be an addition?

just installed on my WB test site - very nicely done! I will be porting this to all of my WB sites tonight

Added usability is great  - updated icons look fantastic (even if the trash can isn't going to get framed and hung in ruebenwurzel's office  grin )

I also like Tomhungs idea  -  limiting it so that the only pages that are visible in the panel are the pages a user has the rights to modify  -  but that sounds like a lot more programming  tongue

This is really, really great icouto. Thank you very much. This is a very handy addition to the admin.
I use it now (WB 2.6.7) in combination with Javascript Admin (http://forum.websitebaker.org/index.php/topic,3029.0.html from nonplus that has some other handy additions like drag and drop of pages.
That combination is perfect.
Wonder if both authors are willing to combine these two additions to one and if that module could make it to the addons page..

I just found the addon and I'm really fascinated about them.
I too think, that it would be a great deal to implemant that kind of simplicity in the 3.0 WB's upgrade.

It takes less time to try the files yourself, then for someone to take a screenshot and post it here  smiley

Alas, this enhancement is not part of the standard WB 2.7. It should have been in my opinion, as the admin looks much better with this add on.

I see:

- Reload Add-ons
- Frontend Output Filter
- Javascript Admin
- Backup
- Captcha and Advanced-Spam-Protection (ASP) Control

Should the enhanced admin be there too?

Hi,

maybe I'm wrong, but "enhanced Admin" and "Javascript Admin" isn't it the same huh

No!

Javascript Admin: drag and drop, and page tree functions.

Enhanced Pages Admin: a purely visual improvement of the pages admin. It's only a handful of files really, but a great improvement. Check it out! Just copy the files over the default ones. I'll attach a thumbnail (ignore the Dutch language).

@argos

Don't know wich version of WB you use, but the enhanced pages admin is fully integrated in WB 2.7. Please check it out on a clean WB 2.7 installation without any personally file changes.

I did use a clean install from a fresh download a couple of days ago. The enhanced pages admin is not part of it.
