I may have missed this somewhere, but I hope not. Anyway, I'd like to take the default News module, and have it lay out stories in a 2-column format, not the 1-column it does now. I'm not sure how to handle the auto-increment built-in to the News function; I am able to get the same story twice on a line, but that's not what I want.

Example: Currently, I get this output:

#1 #1
#2 #2
#3 #3

What I want is this:

#1 #2
#3 #4
#5 #6

I just can't figure it. Is there a way to do this? Thanks.

Why don't you show us your code? Makes it easier to suggest something. Also have a look into the forum, three is a post which does something similar (on a smaller scale). Search for "News module: 2 headlines (with readmore) and the rest as a list" ... you will need to customise it for your needs.

cheers

Klaus,

Oh, there's no real code, just manipulating the HTML in the Settings for the default News module at the moment. I searched and found the post you're referring to, but that's not quite what I was asking... I wanted to know if it was possible using the default news module to get a layout like that. But I don't think it is... so, thank you in that regard. Wink

The newsmodule itself is not laid out to display like that due to the loop. What you could try is to make it DIV based.

Assign a 50% width to the DIV going around the loop and then float it left. that might just do the trick.

Klaus,

Yes, that might just work. Thank you for being a sounding board and perhaps getting me on the right track.
