Hello,

Thanks to Rob Smith who fixed a few errors we are proud to present the next version of this Modul. You can download the version 2.3.1 at the Add-ons Repository.

Changelog:
+fix install.php, groups table not being created
+missing table_prefix in a couple sql statements in modify.php
+fix save_group error, now posts user id's into group table
+fix save.php, cc and bcc only show up if not null

@i2paq
If you already use version 2.3.1 the error message is fixed

Have fun

Hello,

again many thanks to Rob Smith. We now can release the next version (2.3.2) of this Modul. One of the most talked about wishes is implemented. The Modul now supports external Email Adresses, also the non editable Email fields are greyed now. As there are two new fields in the language files we need the translations from different languages. Please post here, we will then include them in the modul.

Changelog:
+you can now subscribe/unsubscribe other email addressses to various groups.
+the new table will be created during the install or when entering the admin (if it doesnt exist)
+new addresses can be added/removed to individual groups, as many as needed
+removing a new address from the All Users group will remove them from all groups...
+minor layout changes in the modify.php
+fixed the german language file

How To Update:
Only install this version over the version 2.3.1. This overwrites all files with the new ones. The new Table gets automaticly installed when you first time call the modify Page.

Where to download:
At the Add-ons repository

Have fun

Seems to be working, I can add any e-mail address to the subscribe list, and unsubscribe.

Will test massmailing a.s.a.p.

I don´t know if somebody is interested in a swedish translation of the massmail module. I needed one so I made the translation. Here is the file if someone wants it!
Great module by the way!!

I've tested it but I'm not able to send any mail from this massmailer.

I'm using a mail-address belonging to the website it's installed on (www.runescaperanger s.nl) and sending out e-mail to hotmail and regular domains.
It tells me that it was succesfull in sending but no mails arrive  cry

Any other mail send via the admin-side (recover password etc.) get send normaly.

Massmail is a great module, big thx!
Problem: I would like to send html-mails (including pictures and other stuff in order to make it look good), unfortunately the mails are shown in the right way on the page (in the mail-archive) but the receiver gets just the plain html-code. Has anyone an idea to solve that prob.?

Hello,

this is on the todo list for one of the next versions but not available yet. Don't know how fast our main modul fixer and developper could do this. He is working an a few modules right now, so have a little time, it's planed to do as soon as possible.

Hi

Since it works  shocked I'll post it here for everyone...
can be added to the todo list to be included as a setting in the next version....

change line 108 in the file save.php.
Quote
$headers .= "Content-type: text/plain; charset=".$charset."\r\n";

change it to:
Quote
$headers .= "Content-type: text/html; charset=".$charset."\r\n";

Hello,

maybe I found a little bug in this module.

I installed Module Update Check and Massmail. At last I installed Massmail 2.3.3., from the addon-site, which is shown in Module Update Check as the last available version.

But the red cross is still visible.

Is it my mistake or a buggy in the module?

Best regards

Udo

Hello,

this is an issue of the module Update checker. Has to do with the thing that Massmail is installing two modules. One for the advanced Options and on as a page for to view the sended mails. We have an improovement for this in the module update checker wich seems not to work correct and display a wrong result. Version 2.3.3 of Massmail is the latest available Version and if you have installed it forget the red cross. I hope we can fix this as soon as possible.

Hi Udo.

A couple things...
1. What is the versions that are displaying for the Massmail local and server?...
2. Which browser are you using? and can you clear your cache? it's possible its reading this from the cache... (shouldnt be.. but is a possiblilty)

My tests seem to work fine with the Massmail.. i'll look more tonight and see if I cna duplicate your results Smiley.

Hi everyone,

I think this module is great, but I wonder if it would be possibble to sign up for "mass mail" directly from the website. Of course you should be able to remove yourself from the mailinglist aswell. This would help the administration of not registered users.

Hi Rob,

I use Firefox 1.5.07.

Installed version (local) is massmail 2.3.2. (displayed).

Version on server is massmail 2.3.3. (displayed).

But when I try to install 2.3.3 again I get the german message  "bereits installiert" - this means "already installed".  And I think I installed 2.3.3. already, but I am not really sure.

Deinstallation is not possible because the module is in use.

Best regards

Just copy the files of the 2.3.3 version via FTP over the already installed 2.3.2 files.

If Version 2.3.2 is installed via WB admin, the ftpuser has no permissions to overwrite this files. The Modul could only be upgraded via WB admin interface, except you have set the file permissions in the advance options of wb to 777 for all wich is not recommanded for security reasons.  wink

Hello,

I set the permission in the option to 777 for a short while.

Then the massmail files were transfered via FTP over the old ones, then permissions back to755.

I got a green hook.

Thank you.
