Hi, I asked this question earlier but didnt get a response. I also have a new question too...

I have the massmail and the newsletter modules installed on 2.7. Was wondering how I can see a list of the all of the members on my mailing list? Is this an option somewhere, or do I need to customise it heavily to show this.

Also, a client of mine wants to capture a users Name and Email Address when they signup. Currently it simply captures their name. Is this a feature that is turned off by default, or will the module need customisation to make it work?

Thanks.

Hello Bakers,

the massmail-module allows to send mail to differrent usergroups / subscriper So far - so good.
But I want a different senderadresses for each group.

For example :
The subscriper for the normal newsletter should get the mail from newsletter@abc.xy
The subscriper for an event-reminder should get this mail from events@abc.xy

Does anyone knows how I can change this ?

Greetings to all - and sorry about my english.

Please advise I am using WB 2.7

IS THERE a solution or a hint to get his point?

is it for the massmail-modul important to switch from phpmail to SMTP??

i've got the same message....read the whole old threat...i've no idea

Same problem here, with the same error message.
No idea how to fix it!!

Any Hints??

I use the massmail and newsletterr on the new WB 2.8 with phpmailer

After sending a newsletter none of the bcc listed email adresses gets the email. By its own Name. Every receiver will get them by the name of the admin you set up under profile.

I was a little confused because i had done a test changeing Line 106 in massmail/save.php from AddBcc into AddCC

When you  do this (only for test) you'll see the names of the email addresses you have sent a newsletter to. (normally you don't want that of course.

Thats why i expected that every Bcc receiver would also see his/her own emailaddress. But the don't. Just from the admin.

It's working great Smiley

Thanks beetle

Hoffnar you can change the name of the email adres by hand "everytime" when neccessary by changeing the name of the administrator and the email adres belonging to it.

After sending the newsletter you can set the name of the admin and email adres back to original.

Its not the nicest way but at least a way afro

Hi,

On a website that I've done I've used massmail and newsletter.  I believe I had everything working in WB version 2.7 with subscribe, unsubscribe and subscribe again.  After I upgraded to WB 2.8 this is not working anymore.  All details about the errors are in the newsletter thread: http://www.websitebaker2.org/forum/index.php?topic=7802.new;topicseen#new.  Has anybody else had issues after upgrading to WB 2.8?

I use WB 2.8 as well as the massmail module 2.3.4

If I change now the mail settings under "options" in the WB of mail PHP on SMTP, this seems to have no effect on the massmail module. This further sends via mail PHP.

Is this so correct? Would I have to change a setting in the massmail, so that this sends via SMTP?

I ask because some receivers do not receive e-mails which are sent via mail PHP.

Hi,

basically a very nice module.

What would make it almost perfect for me is if you added a confirmation page:
Once the sender clicks send, a preview page comes up that shows what the email will look like and who receives it. Thern he clicks "confirm" and it is sent.

This would prevent desasters from happening like the one that just happened to me:
I wanted to send a message to a small group, forgot the subject, had to go back (message and other settings gone, of course) then forgot to choose the group when reassembling the message, and it was sent to EVERYONE.
I know, it's my own fault. Happens after a stressful Sunday.

A very simple solution would be to set the field "Select Mail Group: " to "none" as default. Then  one would have to choose one. Rather than the default being "All Users".

Thanks.

Cheers, Ralf.

Check your mail-logs first of all ... most probably you will find the error there already.

cheers
