While I am still new to WB, I have been using CMS's now for several years and have come across, and used, a few different template clubs.

For anyone who doesn't know what I'm referring to, a template club is usually a subscription based site where every month, 1 or more premium quality templates are released to the club members. In turn, the members can then implement and use those templates on their CMS installation. Also, they can modify the templates however they wish and use them to build sites for their own clients as well.

There are also many other sites who sell templates on a one time basis that are also successful.

So as a general question, do you think a 'WB template club' is an idea worth pursuing? Assuming the templates are of a great quality, would the club be successful? Is there a need for one of the clubs for WB, or is there already enough open source templates to satisfy the current demand?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Hi,

a WB template club would make no sense for me personally.

I like the Open Source idea of WebsiteBaker and are happy with the templates available in the Addons repository. For sure, professional templates would attract more users, but I doubt that they are willing to pay for it.

Best regards
Christian

its really not hard to port good designs to WB.  i also agree with the statements above in that the information should be free.  i've never been dedicated enough to a CMS to pay anything.

I am not sure if there is a need for another template clubs. There so many around.Unless we are ding something differently I dont see why people wnat it. This one is not a template club, but the templates can be customized for WB. This is one of the many around- www.xtrabyte.co.uk You mean like this idea?
