Hi everyone,

I made a new module called: MP3 Playlist.
It is based upon 'Simple Video Gallery' made by ToX.

How does it work?
1. Unzip the ZIP file after download and then install the module called 'mp3playlist_0.1.zip' via the admin interface.
2. Unzip the 'playlist.xml.zip' file and edit the 'playlist.xml' file so the names of your MP3 files are the same as in the 'playlist.xml' file. Then upload the 'playlist.xml' file and your MP3 files in the root of your media folder.

To do:
Finding a way to edit the XML file from within the admin interface (help appreciated!)

greetings,

MacSmet

Hi there,

I am working on version 0.2 right now.
I found a solution for automatic generation of the XML file.
So stay tuned!

Hello macsmet,

thank you for the modul. I have made a test. So far it is o.k., but the speed with my test (Schnappi) is too fast. Schnappi with the windows media player are o.k.
Other mp3 songs is o.k., maybe it's something wrong with the schnappi *g*

You can look hier: http://www.frettchen.raith.ws/pages/menubox2/muckern.php

Hello Hermann,

A known problem with Flash player.
I found the solution on the internet and the problem is your MP3 file:
The Macromedia Flash player has a problem playing files that are encoded at a rate that is not a multiple of 11.025 kHz. This effect is sometimes called the "chipmunk" effect: the file is played at double speed. To avoid this, encode MP3's at 11.025 kHz 22.050 kHz or 44.100 kHz.

Hi macsmet,

what a nice surprise to find your module after returning from a short holliday!
However.... I don't get it to work  undecided.  Apparently Hermann did, so probably it's my fault. I followed your instructions (and they're not too complicated), and indeed the module shows both in the admin and in the site, but the music won't play - neither my own music nor the 2 short songs you supplied with the module.

Hopefully you can help me out. If everything works, I'd be very interested in version 0.2, with the possibility to edit the XML file within the WB admin.

Regards,

Vincent

Thanks for your advise, Hermann. I had made a mistake in the code. It now works fine. Let's wait for MacSmets next version...

I am still working on it but doing several things at the same time.
Got the 'automatic playlist update' almost working.

Hope to release it soon!

Do I assume this topic/module is dead now? Haven't heard anything about it. I tried installing in WB 2.7 and it doesn't seem to want to work (doesn't say it does work, but doesn't say it doesn't either ...). I guess we'll look elsewhere unless someone gets back to me on it

Hi jbs,

Indeed, unfortunately it seems Macsmet has quit working on the module, a pity, because it was very promising.
An other solution can be found here: http://www.websitebaker2.org/forum/index.php/topic,9527.0.html

Or maybe you find another one at AMASP-Project.

I really like the one you mentioned, Vincent, with one exception: you can't just use a directory of mp3 files and an XML file; you have to upload using the admin panel. HTML uploading has issues with larger files and I didn't want to have to get into the .htaccess to allow for larger HTML uploads, etc. It works a lot nicer for my purposes to use FTP where I upload an mp3 and the updated XML file. I'll look through AMASP and if nothing there, I'll look at using an inline wrapper with something other than a WB module, I guess.

Now I feel kinda dumb  embarassed  After all that, I got the module working as it ought. It was my lack of attention to details (or trying to get too much done in too short a time).

So, on I go with my website! Thanks for the great work, all. And thanks for the replies!

Hi mdproduktion,

the hint you wanted ... I found the following code within of the view.php You know this code  wink There I saw the config of the JW Player from Longtailvideo  grin So it´s very easy for us to change all what we want. The ufo.js includes the optional parameters which are possible to use (have a look at line 8 ) ...

Code:
echo "<script type='text/javascript'>";
echo "var FU = {movie:'$dirmodule/mp3player.swf',width:'$width',height:'$height',majorversion:'7',build:'0',bgcolor:'#000000',";
echo "flashvars:'file=$dirweb/playlist.xml&showdigits=true&showicons=true&lightcolor=0x".$lightcolor."&backcolor=0x".$backcolor."&frontcolor=0x".$frontcolor."&volume=100&displayheight=0' };";
echo "UFO.create( FU, 'player$idplayer');";

To solve this you have to add the following param at line 79 of the view.php (located in the module directory).

&wmode=opaque or
&wmode=transparent - The result should be:

Code:
echo "<script type='text/javascript'>";
echo "var FU = {movie:'$dirmodule/mp3player.swf',width:'$width',height:'$height',majorversion:'7',build:'0',bgcolor:'#000000',";
echo "flashvars:'file=$dirweb/playlist.xml&wmode=opaque&showdigits=true&showicons=true&lightcolor=0x".$lightcolor."&backcolor=0x".$backcolor."&frontcolor=0x".$frontcolor."&volume=100&displayheight=0' };";
echo "UFO.create( FU, 'player$idplayer');";

Save the file and enjoy  wink

That´s all
