I think there need to be a dedicated topic just for this. I have seen it spreading around in different thread but havent come to conclusion or answer. I have changed my config.php file to my server settings and the settings on my forms in wb. But all my mail still comes in to wb admin instead of my Outlook. Is there somewhere on the forum that deals with this issue? Can someone please advise where to look and why it is not working?  huh

Can you please explain in more detail what the issue is?
The questions which needs to be answered are:
 - have you installed WB2.6.5 from the addons repository?
 - what do you mean by changed my settings on my forms, to what
 - what do you mean by mail still comes into wb admin instead of Outlook
 - which form module you are using (advanced, standard)
 - have you followed the installation guidelines if you´ve installed the advanced form
 - have you already tried to upload all files again (except config.php and /install dir)
 - have you tried e.g. to send mails via massmail, does this work

Thanks DOC, my line of thinking ... just one more addition: Do you have a mailserver running on the webserver or do you use an external SMTP Server?

cheers

OK, I will try to be as clear as I can. To answer your questions:

 - have you installed WB2.6.5 from the addons repository?
Yes, I installed 2.5.6 last week

 - what do you mean by changed my settings on my forms, to what
When you click on pages, then the form, you will see the different fields. On the top right is the button for Settings. In the 'Email to' field, I put in my email address.

 - what do you mean by mail still comes into wb admin instead of Outlook
When I sent the form from my site, the email went to the Submissions section in WB. (Click on the page form and you will see the different fields. Below the fields it shows all the email sent via the form from the site)

 - which form module you are using (advanced, standard)
I am not sure which form module. It comes with WB.

 - have you followed the installation guidelines if you´ve installed the advanced form
Dont know where is the installation guideline. Is there one for advance? Where do I get the advanced form?

 - have you already tried to upload all files again (except config.php and /install dir)
Dont understand what you mean.

 - have you tried e.g. to send mails via massmail, does this work
No, I havent send any mail through massmail as I am still trying to get my Outlook to recieve emails from WB form.

Hope that helps.  undecided

I have the same problem in three of my sites (1x2.6.4 and 2x2.6.5). Forms of other sites are delivered ok. The strange thing is that they did work at one time and suddenly didn't. Same problem like applepie email is going to the submission section but not coming into outlook. Just standard form no advanced. Checked the server side but nothing has changed recently. Very strange huh

I have seen eleswhere that others are experiencing similar problems. I think there needs to have a dedicated section on the forum for this topic. Anyone out there managed to get it working? Can you help us please?  cry

Hello,

1.) some hoster dissalow that sender an recipient have the same mailadress. So if you filled in there the same mailadress as in the install window of WB (you can change this is the settings of WB) this could be one reason for not sending the mail.

2.) in WB 2.6.5 you have the ability to choose between phpmail and SMTP. You are asked this at installation. PHPMail is the default, but when you got problems, try it with smtp. Simply edit the config.php, uncomment the smtp line and add your smtp server for to activate smtp Mailing.

3.) You also can trying to use the advanced form modul wich you find on the bottom of our addons page. Read exactly how to upgrade. The advanced form gives a little bit more options especially for sending mails.

Hope this helps

Changing the email adress doesn't do the trick.

And what about the problem in the 2.6.4. installation? Maybe if you can tell me if any changes ar made in the form module in the upgrade from 2.6.3 to 2.6.4. (because 2.6.3. is working). I also find it very strange that at one point the sending of mails from these forms did work and suddenly stopped working.

I would like to avoid that for upgrading reasons.

thought we are only talking about 2.6.5 here, or am i wrong?

the form modul from 2.6.3 to 2.6.4 didn't change, as far as i remember only the mail function changed. The problem was that there was no solution wich worked on all server so we decided to add a new class and smtp support. So i recommand to upgrade all to 2.6.5.

2.6.3 1 site using the formmodule: working
2.6.4 2 sites using the formmodule: not working (did work one time but suddenly stopped)
2.6.5 1 site using the formmodule: not working (did work one time but suddenly stopped)

Yes, I am talking about 2.5.6. I have changed uncomment the config.php file. But, she got the same result. My email still ended up in the wb and not Outlook.
From my Add-ons I dont see any Advsance feature for form. Do you mean I have to install it?

Guys, have you checked the server logs for this? Where there any updates on the server side which might have rendered the functionalty unusable?

It is not enough to just ranting about there it's working and there not and then not trying what we ask you to.

@applepie: what about my question in post #3?

@jschor: what about your servers? Mailserver running or not?

cheers

OK, Klaus. I misunderstood you. I thought you meant the addons on my site. I looked through all the modules added and couldnt see the advanced module. I didnt realise you meant the the addons on the official WB addons page, I have downloaded it now and will install it. Will let you know the result Smiley

@applepie: what about my question in post #3?

I read the addons page and this is what it says, 'For WB 2.6.5 this is not required because it's already included.' I am using WB 2.6.5. I tried uploading the form module anyway but it would not upload. So, that means it is already installed.  huh

You seems to totally missunderstood. Please read again. The extra update file is only meant for WB 2.6.4. How to upgrade the form in WB 2.6.5 is explained on the addons page, again read it there how to.

Talking about the normal core form module NOT the advanced

@klaus: Mailserver is running on server.

So there did change something from 2.6.3 tot 2.6.4? (mailfunction? newclass?) Or only 2.6.5?? Cannot read that from your answer.

I am also in contact with my provider about this and hope we can solve it together.

Hello,

some users had problems with the mailfunction of 2.6.3. So we changed the mailfunction in WB 2.6.4 with the result that now other users had problems. So we looked for a solution wich works for all users. In WB 2.6.5 the mailfunction is replaced with a new mailer class wich allows sending phpmail and smtp mail. For specified questions ask doc who integrated this new class in WB.

Ok,

just used the standard form module coming along with WebsiteBaker the first time. Tested it with WB2.6.5 using SMTP for all mails send by WB.

First test failled due to an configuration error. Have used the input of a field which stored the username as from email address. The form module writes mail successfully send, but I received no mail. So make sure you are using a valid FROM mail address.

After setting the from address in the options to user defined and specifying an existing mail, everything works like expected.

Then I set the email to: field to the same mail address as the email from: field (both times an existing GMX mail address). I received an email with the following error message:
Quote
Remote host said: XXX-X.X.X {mxYYY} The recipient does not accept mails from 'gmx.de' over foreign mailservers
So GMX refuses all mails using email from address like name@gmx.yyy when the mail is not send over a GMX mailserver (in my case the mail is send by the SMTP server of my domain).
As workaround, I am always using a from mail: address like mailer@mydomain.com.

So from my experience, most of the issues with sending out mails is caused by wrong settings.

Normally i let the standard value "custom" in the email from field unchanged. For all installations up to 2.6.4 this worked. For the sites i had trouble with i tried to change this into emailadres. And..... it worked  huh cheesy

Hello,

if you have done exactly the steps wich are described there your form shouldn't be broken. So it seems you missed something.

1. Wich vesion of WB do you use? For 2.6.4 you need the additional patch.
2. Did you run the upgrade script?

I am using 2.6.5. It says that it doesnt need the upgrade script for that version. The strange is that I uploaded the previous Form module and reload from wb. Its showing Add Fields and Settings now. But, I still cant get the email to go to my Outlook huh Emails are still going to the Submissions section in WB.  cry
