Hi Ladies,

is a session-management planned to integrate in wb?

The reason i ask is easy: we're working on a small TIS (tourism information system) based on wb. we have written some extra wb-modules for it, like
 - google maps
 - rental system for holiday flats
 - and so on...
(all these modules are still beta. we'll publish some of them under GPL when they are stable.)

Now we're looking for a way to handle user-interests.
for example:
someone has rented a flat for some period. now he is interested in the events of this period. of course he can look for all events in an event-calendar, but its more comfortable to show him only the events he's interested in by one click.

the simplest way to handle this is a session-management, isn't it?
our question: is a session-management planned? and if, whats its structure?

Hi Ladies,

I interpret from the being missing answer, that no changes are planned in the way you're handling sessions.

OK, so we do it your way.

Thanks for korresponding. wink

Huh of course.
That shows me what you've "stored" in the session. But was this my question?
You misunterstood me, John.

My question was, if you're planning to change the HANDLING of sessions. e.g. to become compatible to the query languages of GIS- or TIS-Systems with heterogeneous data and resource sources. Let's say to support server-server-interaction between IROBDB, XML-KM and InTouriSME or the reference model RMSIG, which enables uniform access to and interaction between components of an electronic system (e.g. a market - what is not the same as a shop. Just to avoid misunderstandings) based on different specific models.

But I think, you havent ever thought about.
Its not so important.

WB 2.x won't be further developed, instead wb 3 will be newly developed with some new insights.

Next release of the wb 2 branche might be only to repair some bugs, a bugrelease

This basicly doesn't answer your question, other then that session handling won't be changed in wb2.
You could however influence the development of wb3 posting the why's of sessionmanagement in the wb3 section of this forum (idea's for wb3 : http://forum.websitebaker.org/index.php/topic,3306.0.html )

Hope this gives a much better answer, now I understand what your question is... Wink
