(Inevitably) Template problems

Hello, I installed a couple of fine templates from the showcase (namely "winter" and "transmission"); they were uploaded via FTP and then the Reload Add-Ons done and then the templates were loaded.

Unfortunately, when they are loaded, all I get is a blank page. It looks as though nothing renders on the page at all. When I switch back to a standard template (e.g. Round, Simple, AllCSS, etc.) then they pages come up fine.

Any ideas?
