WOW, this mod looks great I am definitly waiting in anticipation to add this to the growing list of fantastic mods I use for development!

Is there going to be support for navigating through the calendar by year instead of just by month?

Maybe it would be also a good idea to extend the existing event calendar instead of creating new modules for the same task.

We should focus on one project. Everything else is just resource dissipation. Maybe we could combine the existing event calendar (1.61) with your functions?

What do you think about it?

Best wishes,

I totally disagree

There could exists many modules alongside eachother performing somewhat the same task but with different views etc.

Look at a car for example, one wants it red, others blue, one a convertable the other a hardtop etc....
At the end they all drive.. Tongue

I didn't study this calendar closer, but i'm pretty sure, that both projects goes little different ways - i think that my calendar has different database structure...

In my opinion, more calendar goes space to "competition"...  smiley wink

I never had any reason to think about skipping years, beacuse my plans reaces only few days/weeks into future, but i could add this to my tasklist  wink

Few minutes ago, I finished all changes I wanted to be in 1.0-RC1 version.  evil
It's here for you, download it and test it please.

Calendar has this features now...
  • Calendar can user language versions - for default it uses english, also czech language pack is available
  • You can define some "action-types" (i.e. Theatre, Concert, Trip).
  • Action has public or private status. If action is private, only it's owner can see/edit it.
  • Users of groups with "pages_settings" privilege set up can also add edit and delete color schemes, whis is used by calendar. During adding new section, if there is not any, module creates one default colorscheme
  • Every date is in format YYYY-MM-DD, time has format HH:MM. In feature versions this will be changeable.
  • In description input field, every new-line is converted into <br>

Hi there,

I tried installing your module using the Modules tool, but I get an error message (something to the effect that the file is invalid).  Is there a manual install route I could use in the meantime?

Thanks for the work, if your initial demo is any indication, this will look great on a site I am building for a small non-for-profit organization here in Quebec.  Once it is up and running, I'll ut up a link if anyone is interested in seeing what WebsiteBaker noobs are doing with this incredibly sdimple but powerful CMS.

Cheers!

if you find it in the modules subdirectory of your installation, just use the "reload add ons" Tool in the admin section.

But usually there is a reason for the errors. Please let us see the complete errormessage, maybe we can help you there.

The error message I get when loading the module via the Admin panel  is:

The file you uploaded is invalid

I tried creating a directory and manually copying files in, then reloading modules, but nothing happens.

if you used the file from this thread, I can ashure you, the file is OK.

Did you use the "template", "language" or "module" upload interface?

The error you are getting, you normally get, if you try to uplaod a module via the "language" or "template" uploader and not the actual "module" uploader.

Another reason could be, that the module doesn't work with your WB Installation, if you have installed older versions of WB. In that case, you should consider upgrading to the latest WB version.

cheers

I am using version 2.6.4 of WB, and yes, I am using the Modules upload function.  The latest version. RC2, gives me the same error...  I am testing this on my Winblowz laptop, running WAMP Server 1.6.3, but I get the same error on my Linux-based hoster.

do you get the same error with other modules? How are those modules build? Files in the root or a single folder in the root (although that would give a different error)?

cheers

hmm... that's strange... do you have rights for write/delete files from temp dir? how do you have set owner and group on your linux-host? (i don't know exactly how WAMP runs, I never tried it. Is it using sytem of rights too?  wink)

i'm running with user www-data as owner and users as group with rights 775. Try it please. wink

This is the only module I have had problems with.  All other "approved" modules work fine, except for a few display glitches (but that's for other posts!).

Thanks for the quick responses, much appreciated!

I can't change permissions on hosted files myself, that's why I was testing this locally first. , but then tried it anyway...  On my local box, I have full write access to all files, so this shouldn't be a problem?

BTW, I tried a fresh install of WB 2.6.4, with no content or any supplemental modules set up, and the same error message comes up when trying to install this one.

i am fishing in the dark ... brainstorming:

What Version of WAMP are you using? (PHP-Version, MySQL Version, Apache Version ...), maybe it's got to do with that one ...

I'll give it a try on a XAMPP with WB 2.6.4 (MySQL4.1.14-NT, Apache 2.0.54 and PHP5).

will get back later.

cheers

I'm now using the PHP version of WAMP, 1.6.4, found here:

http://www.wampserver.com/en/download.php

I deleted my previous install, then installed the newest version with default values, e.g. without any additional PHP modules.  WebsiteBaker was also reinstalled with default values (no pages created yet, just tried adding the calendar module, same error pops up, e.g. "The file you uploaded is invalid ").

Thanks for your help, I know how frustrating this type of question can be.  Usually, I'm on the other side, helping others out.  To tell you the truth, it does feel a bit weird. wink

Did you try XAMPP ?

Many users do have outstanding experiences with it allso in combination with WB
