Hi All

I've got a new module ready for testing Smiley

A Random Section Module. v0.1
Ths module will let you insert a WYSIWYG section from any page into another page.
You can control the sections that are available for it to display, as many or few as you wish.
Currently only public or hidden sections are available for selection

This module could be used to give a more dynamic look to a web site, focusing on a different item or design, etc..

Installation is simple, just like any module Add-ons -  Modules - Browse and Install

To-Do's
+ more section types available to use (news, manual, etc) which would be prefered?
+ private/registered sections selectable

So please test and post possible issues, But do it on test setups as long as this is the first version.

I am looking for comments and wishes to make a better and more stable Module.

Thanks
Rob

I would like to see this handy module updated so that it can include any section, page or news post. Maybe it can be converted into a droplet for even more flexibility (if that's possible).

Hi...

I've checked out the Droplets and have modified a few for my purposes that may be useful for others
http://slink2.no-ip.info/pages/website-baker-info/module-mods/droplets.php

btw great job.. nice new function for WB

Droplet version of the Random WYSIWYG & Multiple WYSIWYG modules can be found here :
Random Section:
http://slink2.no-ip.info/pages/website-baker-info/module-mods/droplets/show-random-wysiwyg.php
Multiple Section:
http://slink2.no-ip.info/pages/website-baker-info/module-mods/droplets/show-multiple-wysiwyg.php

To find the section_id, select Manage Sections on the page that contains the section you wish to use, hover over the WYSIWYG Section and check the url, in the example below the last number is the section_id (600)
example:  http://webserver.com/wb/admin/pages/modify.php?page_id=248#600

I'll look into using other section types... it can get more complicated since other sections may link back to themselves etc...

Hi,

would be nice, if you add your droplets to the official droplet library using this form.

I don't know if it's the original version, or your modification, but the random image droplet on your site is not working right. I checked WinXP on IE7, Firefox and Google Chrome. They all mess up. They all load all images on page load (very old fashioned and time consuming), but they all show all images together. So not one at a time, but just all together. And IE7 even makes them 1 pixel wide, which creates a kind of vertical blinds effect.

Ah yes.. I see, 1 more reason I never use IE.... I'll modify this to use the correct height/width since IE doesn't auto-resize and make another one to use thumbnails and possibly text listings.

Thanks for the feedback...

Do you use Win XP, or some other OS? I have XP, so maybe it's an OS thing?
