Hi,

Can I take the liberty to present a proposal to the developers of the modules?

Typically, a website is created by a builder like us, but maintained by the owner of the site. Sometimes we don't want certain people to go to the back-end of WB.

So it would be nice that the "ordinary people" can change data on the front-end. Then I think of modules such as news (blog), calendar (appointments), photo albums, ...

This is a beautiful combination of WB and Web 2.0. Hopefully we don't have to wait for WB 3.0 for features like this.

Sincerely on this sunny day,
Luc

Hello,

there exists a modul frontend editing wich allows you (if logged in) to have a editing link on the frontpage from where you get directly linked to the backend to edit this page.

Hi,

I'd like to mention that Bookings has Frontend Editing. rolleyes

Well, this is beautiful.

The events calendar and the news module would certainly have frontend editing . If someone wants to post something in the news or the calendar, they have to know the backend of WB. I do not want to allow 50 people on the backend.
And now I hear you say: "you can put userrights on WB and modules" ... correct, can do this. But frontend editing is better. This is my opinion  cool

Grtz,

Well, it's not easy to implement. Each module has different authorization needs. With Bookings, you can allow frontend users to access the options dialog or not, for example. Or to delete their own bookings or not. Other modules don't even have an options dialog.

So, a solution cannot be part of the WB core, I think. There's no "global" solution for this. (Or, if there's one, it's extremely complex.)
