Hi i made and i customized some templates,
many still aren't finished yet, i need some serious debugging to do...
but here is a preview
Tangled and Weaved template:
(all most finished, the only problem is, it's a size
limited site, so no big news post for this template
)
Personal Page template:
(design needs some serious work
)
Smooth, round template:
Some nice menu colors, and almost unlimited menu's
(4 levels max, it can be more, but you won't see it)
last but not least
JustWatch template:
still much more to come, but i'll just make these four work

nice... Sad to say im more intrested in the features and stuff like that of programs than the looks. That is why when we start a projcet, I am strictly a coder and olny do graphics if i Have to, I do make the GFX and such for my own sites though..

Yes, i'm also very intressed in the features, but my coding skills are not without limit... and i find it very relaxing to do some GFX from time to time
And grafix just gives a project, like WB, the edge for the end user...
Providing a good product and some very nice looks, and people want it. If the looks are spartan, most people will just let it be... and that's to bad, because WB is a great CMS...

Could be a great CMS, it has its limitations now, it just needs creative imput and a little more work.

Heh, If WB hadn't crashed on me over 5 times now, I would use it but Im playing with the code to work out some of the kinks so for now I have to host the old Mambo site..
Note for future refrence: Ryan, I understand you taking a vacation and stuff, but you cant take a 3 week vacation if you are the olny staff member and expect things not to break and people need help.

I don't like mambo, to many features, i just love the simplicity of WB, no big fancy install,
which some users may find difficult
I'll just stick to my simple cms, for now, untill WB is stable enough on my production server... (a.k.a webhosting
)
But i've got it running stable on a unix, linux, mac and windows boxes.. even taking haevy trafic... (nice those site/server test programs)

man, just give the man his vacantion... if find it worth saying he's on the site almost every day...
you need to ask for a developer status sylverfaces...
(look at groups
)
and yes, one or two moderators, may come in handy...

- Well you did make the comment on the 6th - today is the 7th, so I think I've done pretty well. Also, I have posted info around the WB site and on the forum many times before asking for help, but all I get is people sending in templates and modules and translations - no offers for moderating the forums, no offers for writing doc's, and no offers for anything else really.
- I don't expect everything to work without breaking - I never said I did.
- You must realise I try my absolute hardest to make sure I give the best support possible, but sometimes I can't. I want to try and be a regular 15-year-old sometimes, which means I can't give 24-7 support.

It's commonly known, you don't request to be a moderator, if you do ask you will centainly not become one. If you're in need of moderators, you have to ask them...

You're on vacantion... so be on vacantion!!!! Live like a 15-year-old.
no one can give 24/7 support. And some of us, do know something about WB, so some simple questions we can handle
have a nice vacantion!!!!

Well you guys have done very well so far and I am very happy about that! Just one thing...

I thought by putting a message on the forum saying "I need some to be a forum moderator" it would mean someone would just email me and say "are you still in need of a moderator? I would be happy to help out if you need it" or something like that - however, I guess what you're trying to say is "if I find someone who helps out a lot and think I can trust them, then ask them, don't just wait for some random person who wants to be a moderator before I even trust them" - I like you're idea better.
I will look into re-assigning forum perms, etc. when I get home next weekend.

What you need to do is so that guests cant post messages, this prevents people from signing up if they can just post w/o signing up.

Because of NAT. Someone inside the Nat messes, everyone in the NAT get banned. (same with proxys)

You can find out if someone is using a static or dynamic ip.
If you make it a subcribe only forum, some users won't repley. Because they don't want to give the e-mail adres. And maybe we shouldn't care about that kind of users. We're creating a community and unregisterd people don't add to the community

Well I never really thought about this kind of thing that much before, but now I have made every forum so they require registration, with the exception of those for support (general support, etc.).
