What kind of doc's does WB need...
And what would you like to see then... evil

Does it need, an (example)
- installation guide
- howto guide (how do you work with WB)
- FAQ
- Internal workings (explain the code thing)

I have already mentioned that I wanted to have documentation before the end of last year, but it looks like it will be delayed until I get home from vacation. I think that an installation guide for multiple platforms would be nice, along with F.A.Q/Tips, a full user-guide (of all features in WB), and then maybe code documentation (but I doubt it as this really isn't needed - most people interested in understanding the code should look at inline commenting, etc.). Cool

Mmh before the end of last year isn't possible.

So i'll try to create some simple guides, for installing WB...

I think what is most urgently needed is a beginner's HOWTO guide for the first steps around. The current documentation is feature-based whereas a task-based approach is much easier for the novice. For example - the question should be: "How do I create my first page" and not "What is the Pages section for?"
Surely, WB is an easy-to-use product, but some more detailed documentation is definitely helpful at the beginning. Also, there are some hidden features that definitely need explaining (sections, standard signup as a group other than administrators, etc.)
I'm very willing to help on the documentation project. We should coordinate it, though, so that we don't work on the same stuff at a time.

Cheers,
Stefan

PS: Happy new year to everyone, as this is my first post in 2005.

Hmmm, I wish this happened in like a week! I want to be at home when you guys start this stuff so I can help co-ordinate things (like set up the docs. website). Maybe if you guys use this thread for docs status (and make links to whatever you are working on) for now, then after next weekend I will setup a docs site and give you perms on it so we can work on things all together. Cool

We're all hard at work, just to make the docs. And you can't do anything remotely  cheesy

We'll just use this thread then...
 rolleyes
