page vanished

has this happened to anyone before, might be my own fault with not understanding things.

I got my site and a page called "contact-me.php". I just finished it off and thought i'd test out the "Menu Link" on a new page. I did that and it wasnt working (probably did it wrong) so i deleted the page (Menu Link). My contact me page is still fine and i can edit it etc but when i click to view it on the site it says my page doesnt exist on the server..

what have i done wrong? all the details are still in the database but theres no contact-me.php file anymore in the /pages/ folder how can i sort it?

ok VERY strange. I used the page duplicate module and made a copy of the page. I named it contact.php and it showed up fine EXCELLENT.

I then removed the old contact-me.php and renamed my contact.php to contact-me.php. After i did this again the page could not be found. What is going on? is this a bug or something because the page displays fine as long as its not called "contact-me.php"

even stranger.. i just come back to my site after checking the database and its all working again with the file contact-me.php and its present in the /pages/ folder now. that because of the clone feature?

anyway.. its working again but why did this happen in the 1st place?
