@Panther:
We are talking about two different phpBBs.
The one you mean is the "old" and well-known phpBB2. The one I mean is the newer version, phpBB3 alias
Olympus
. Not a single spam bot yet was discovered breaking into it.
And the code was completely changed.
No, I understand that. And I've looked at it a bit, but phpBB3 is still a lot more than I need for this one site...
I have another site (actually a combination of 3 sites that use a shared userbase) at
www.dragonsmark.com
that I hope to eventually upgrade to phpBB3, but we have lots of customizations that will have to be modified for the new one.
phpBB right now, for some of the applications I need it, is like using a sledge hammer to drive a finish nail. It works, but it is a lot more than I really need to do what I want.
Similar to WB actually... other CMS systems do more or do some things "better", but so far it is proving to be the best tool for the jobs I need it to do! :>

Off-Topic:
I looked at your site- you have the phpBB2 right there. Why change it.
There are some very small modifications and spams get away (if you don't know them I can of course tell them you
).
Well you might have noticed that I'm a fan of phpbb. But SMF is quite the same feature overloaded than bb3- but I think much more complicated for the user and not very changeable (e.g. the template is not replaceable so easy, look at the user control panel here or the text editor...)
Of course it's my personal opinion.

@Panther:
If you like SMF more then PHPBB, I know there is some api for SMF wich can be integrated in WB
The api could do allmost anything, even check if user logged in etc
I don't think it would be very hard to use the user-group base from SMF for WB
Look at SMF API ->

PS, Since this is something I could use for my work I can work with you on this one.

I guess there isn't anyone searching for een solution for my problem? Could it be that the intergration doesn't work on a windows server?

could you post the core files for the panel, and we just add the SMF Files?

I've tried integrating both SMF and phpBB on a few WB sites I set up, and both had issues or where too complex to administer, so I went back to my favorite, MyBB. It is one of the few forums out there that allows creating users manually (as the site admin), as opposed to others that rely on user registrations that require validation. No direct integration with WB, though, I wish WB had a basic forum module that integrated with the user DB, but I guess I'll have to wait until version 3.

SMF allows manual user creations... I just did so on a new install to test my different group permissions.

It looks like the community had a finished SMF module for WB that integrated the SMF and WB users table as well as the login process.
I understand due to license regulations this had to be taken off the WB site, but is it available elsewhere? The WB thread has far more than these threads on the SMF Community Boards...

If someone doesn't have it, could someone post a receipe of how to customize it?
Thanks

Thanks. Yes, it works now.

Hello!
Yes, there was one. It was version 1.0.6 I think. Why it can't be anymore here was said about 157 times.
But right now there are punBB and phpBB3 forum modules in development. punBB is quite finished I think, phpBB3 takes some time.

Hi I have followed instructions below but need the final advice
To get the PHP information do following:
1) make a page of type code
2) put in following code: phpinfo();
3) view the page.
On this page you look for "upload_max_filesize ".it is 7m,
HELP how do I increase this so I can upload larger files??
