Good morning website bakers!

Quick question, I've searched high and low but came up with nothing for this so thought I'd put it out here.

My query is whether there is a snippet/module/droplet out there for the News module to have a file upload tool tacked on to the 'Add Post' area.

Obviously users are able to manually link to an uploaded file but I'm working with a client who will add news with a number of supporting documents and I can envision having trouble working their way around the WYSIWIG with so many links.

Seems like a basic one, and one that would surely come in useful for plenty of people. If there is nothing, being a designer with little PHP/mysql skills what would be the easiest way to go about creating this myself? Maybe modifying the news module with a file upload script?

Thanks in advance

I didn't hear of anything like this wich is stable and solid tested.

But I have written a new module from news wich has a fileupload (select) possibility, called contents
-> http://www.websitebaker2.org/forum/index.php/topic,20672.msg153468.html#msg153468
Mind you, it might have bugs etc...
Still need testers for it Wink

As I understand you you want one or more files per post?
If you know the maximum amount and it is not a zillion you can use contents for it.
Just create some cutsom fields of type file.

If you need help implementing pm me or post here.

John, you legend. This does everything I need and more.

I used the template to call in a set of 5 custom uploads with <a href="[FILE1]">[FILE1]</a>, 2, 3 and so on. It works great.

I'd be happy to help out with testing. Noticed one very minor bug with the Templates page that I'll add to your thread if it helps.

Please do test some more, give me all the bugs, wil fix them and start a new thread for this module.
I could allso use some better css and layouts or templates so it could be usefull to lesser experienced wbusers since current templating is more debugging.

Glad you like it btw

No problem, I'll spend some more time with it and note down any bugs I run into.

Also will be putting together a couple of templates as I replace the standard news module for a few sites that really need the features.

Thanks
