// set to NULL to use the OS setting -> $locale = NULL;
$locale          = 'nl_NL';

Change nl_NL to reflect your choice.

Have fun

Hi, i've used ProCalendar with jQuery UI DatePicker, here's the result:
http://www.cosmosskamouraska.com/

The page with ProCalendar: http://www.cosmosskamouraska.com/calendrier.html

I had to mod the droplet to make it work properly (with disabled date, link to date, change month when procalandar do too)

if you'd like the modified droplet just ask Wink

Hi,

I'm not sure what you did. I notice a non-working small calendar, and somewthing going wrong on http://www.cosmosskamouraska.com/calendrier.html?Concert de Noël&month=12&year=2011&day=04&show=2&id=11&section_id=2&detail=1

Are you still working on it?

Cheers,

the site is still in dev mode, but everything is working fine, the date in the past will not be active in the calendar, and as of right now there is only 1 in the future (in feb 2012)

we tested it in all major browsers (except ie6) and it work at perfection... but yes, there is some tests going on because we mod ProCalendar to display some customs fields in the "list" of events in the month page

Just tested it on 2.83 REv. 1611 on a FF browser without ad blocker.

When entering a date no popup date chooser came up after clicking on the icons right from the input field?

Bug?

Hm... I tested on my WB 2.8.2 testsite with FF and had no probs with the date popup. Maybe this is due to some changes in WB 2.8.3? I will update to the latest version when I have time asap, and get back to this.

It would be nice if there where a central place for the development of this great module where we can grab the latest version. Github perhaps? There could be a (PayPal) button for those who want to donate (as I did and will do again as development continues))
Thank's for alle the work, both Marmot, Argos and PCwacht wink

Hello, this module looks great!

I would like to know if it's possible to add more than one calendar and give edition permissions to one admin per calendar. This is for a school who wants to have a calendar for each class and have an admin for each calendar (so admin for calendar 1 can't make changes on calendar which is from another class).

Thank you!

The Calendar itself has no user rights, but you can put each calendar on a separate page, and give specific rights to each page.

I can confirm that after upgrading tot WB 2.8.3 the date pickers don't work anymore. Furthermore, there are suddenly 2 date pickers for the End Date, so I have suddenly 3 date pickers. None of them work. I'll contact John about it and we'll get back on this!

I'm sorry you feel that way, and we are partly to blame. Sorry for that. Our regular jobs have taken over and development of this module has gone to a lower priority. I will discuss your attributions with John, and breathe some life in this module again. May take some days, but we'll be back soon.

Marmot, a big thanks to all the stuff you did on the module! I'm currently going through the topic and putting it all together into a new official module version. Could you tell me if John's (beta) groups support is part of your latest functions.php (version 120122)?

no I'm quite sure it isn't. I downloaded the module some time ago form AMASP and it was already version 1.04 but I don't remember that I did some hotfixes. But I already fixed some stuff on the month link during change of years and there was still on bug with the headline over the actions list. At this point it would be great to have a github repository like blackbird and cwsoft for example...
Best wishes for your plan to put it all together and if I can help, let me know.

- made kategorie formatable by css (use #acttype<number> in css file to set format)

Hi marmot,

this is a very handy addition. It could turn the module into a availability calendar, by creating some status like "Free", Partially booked" and "Fully booked", and giving them some colors. However, in that case visitors should not be able to click further to see the details, because there will be no further details. So there should be some switch in the backend settings to use the module as either an event calendar, or as an availability calendar. Could you do that? If so, please use the latest module version from http://www.argosmedia.net/wb/pages/procalendar/module-download.php, as I updated the module with a lot of changes, so you will need to use my version to build on.

There is a little bug in the category styling, by the way. It looks for the category "numbers", but apparently WB remembers also the numbers of deleted categories. So if you had originally 4 categories, and you delete number 3, you need to style in CSS the categories 1, 2, and 4. That's not user friendly. Can this be fixed?

hmm, thanks to you and pcwacht for the great work. But, of course, there is still one downer. One of the most wanted features (just to quote you), the recurring events, was implemented here, but maybe years to early  wink or too complex for using it in the latest version of procal ?

regards

Edit: The feature should be included in procal 1.1 but it wasn't announced here. That confused me a bit.

hmm to do this you must reorganize the database in this point. What should be done? If one entry gets deleted:
-move the following entries all down one place
-put the last one in the free space
-wait till next entry is made and use free space

Point one and two will lead to a change of cat numbers, so the user will have to adapt the css after deleting.
Point three could be done but I would expect the latest entry as the highest number and not somewhere in between. Don't know if this is more user friendly? Any other ideas?

Maybe it would be enough to show the user the cat number somewhere in the backend or even have an butten "css format this cat" which opens css file with cat number already entered?  afro Dont know if this ever will happen ...

Hm... I'm not a coder but I see the points you make. I don't have a ready solution though. Best would be some backend method. I guess showing the category number in the backend would already make a big improvement. Right now it's a matter of guessing, and that's not user friendly enough yet.

Hm... There were a few threads with many suggestions and fixes and improvements. I guess I just missed this one. I have looked at it but to be honest I don't see any connection between categories and recurring events. If I understand it right, you suggest people create a separate category for each recurring event? That's not the way this feature should work in my opinion, and it doesn't work that way in other calendar software.

So I'm afraid I can't let this be an official feature of the module right now. It's part of the functions.php though, so people can use it as a "hidden feature" if they read this, but I won't communicate about it in the help files or the project site or AMASP, and I won't support it. I find user friendlyness very important, and this is not a user friendly method of using recurring events in my opinion. I hope you can improve it  grin

Or do I understand it wrong? Please correct me if I don't understand your setup right.

Don't use category numbers, due to changes it is hard to keep them up.
I think it is better to use the categorie names instead, I think it is just a litle code change to make this happen. And so much easier to maintain.

Hi Argos,

1) recurring events:
I understand what you mean but: I think you got the usage right, once you understand the system it should be possible to add #Fri#Sun to the category name. If that's too much for someone, I guess he/she should start a new hobby / work and let someone else manage the cms Smiley. Ok that's just a joke. As said in the introducing post of this feature my main intention was to keep things easy for updating. Just change functions.php, nothing else. No other backend files, no database update and so on. In context of a new module release, the situation is an other, but I'm happy that it's still a most wanted "hidden feature", but didn' try it yet.

2) formating categories:
I thougt about using category names in the css file but only for a few seconds. There can be spaces, special characters, very long category names .... which cause problems when used in the css file. And shorten this to the first characters also would cause problems with categories starting with the same word. Any solutions for this? The code change would be small, that's true, but it doesn't help when causing problems¿

But I'm still thinking about all of your suggestions.

Well, as I said: using categories for recurring events is just not intuitive and not common. I really cannot ask from my clients (whose job is not to maintain a website) to create another category for each type of recurring event and then use 3-letter day tags (that also must start with a capital and # characters) to fill the calendar.

Besides that, it's a too limited feature still. Because many times users want to have the event recur after x days, instead of certain weekdays. And what if people need to skip some dates? Or use irregular intervals? Or use a fixed pattern, with only a few exceptions? This is all rather complex and that's why it's not part of the module yet.

Ideal would be to have these options when creating/editing an event:
- use once (default)
- repeat every X days, with the last time after X times or on a particular date
- repeat every same weekday, with the last time after X times or on a particular date
- repeat on particular dates

The last option is already possible by copying and "Save as New", but it would be easier to just fill in some dates for the repetitions.
