Dear WB experts,

I used a > in the pagetitle and the menu title.. Dumb! But it happened before I realized what I had done.
A database error occured when I saved this page. I quickly deleted the page from the database using PHPadmin. But there's more to it..

When I try to create another page (without > signs!) the ID numbering is off. It creates a page with the number -1. When I manually change this number in the database (using PHPmyadmin) in a positive, correct number this doesn't work.

Can someone please give a tip how to fix this?
The website it concerns is online and I hope everyday that the end-users aren't going to add another page, because the entire website goes into error if they do so!

There should be no problem using > in a menu/pagetitle.

So there must be something else wrong with your setup.

Mmm, whatever the reason is, I can't create new pages.. Can you give me any tips on how to handle?

I installed WB on a another server, imported the files with FTP and imported the database, but that didn't help. The same error occurs.
I was thinking about importing all tables separately instead of the whole db. Is that a good idea?
I really don't want to copy and paste all the texts from the individual pages to the new WB install..

Thanks for the response.

I followed the instructions for the permissions, changed most files to 777, others to 755. Still the same problem.
When I create a new WYSIWYG page and press the save button, this message comes up:

Duplicate entry '0' for key 1

The new page had ID number 0 in the page-list, I can't work in the backend anymore until I manually remove the record in the pages table where the page_id = 0.

Any other suggestions?
Thanks for the fast replies by the way, that really helps me and keeps me going.

I think it has something to do with the auto_increment in the tables.

This solution helped me :

Auto_increment on PHPmyAdmin
1. Select the table you want to change.
 2. Click the pencil icon (change) for the field you want to add the auto-increment to.
 3. Select "auto_increment" from the drop down menu in the "Extra" column.

At first it worked for the table pages, but then the page had no WYSIWYG section to show. When I added one, the Section_id was 0.

So I think I'll have to set auto_increment on all the tables in my db.
Have to run now, but I'll post the outcome!

OK, I was looking into the same direction, although it would be interesting to find out if the issue lies with the export / import you used ...

cheers

grin grin grin applying auto_increment finally did the job!
I was in the fortunate position to have a similar website (same template, same addons etc) and when I checked the structure of the different tables, I could see which tables had Auto_increment and on which element.

I copied the situation in another phpadmin session on the failing database and I can add pages again!

What a relief!
Klaus: It was a while ago since I exported and imported the database, but I can remember fooling around with the sql compatibility mode.

Thanks to all the respondents grin
