Hi,

I updated recently from WB 2.6.7 (I guess...) to now WB 2.8.2. Now I cannot assign templates to the different pages anymore, in the pages options there is only the feature "standard".

In the add-ons/templates dialogue I cannot see the details of the two templates I use, both adapted versions of 2-colxhtml. The details of the default-templates, like allcss, are shown.

Nevertheless the templates are still working like they were assigned before the update.

I hope you have a glue...I don´t....Wink

There is a reload addons option in the admin-tools. Trying this I get:

It is NOT possible to upgrade from a 2.6.x Version to 2.8.1 or 2.8.2

o.k., I remember this problem: I updated first to 2.7, then I changed the data in some file from 2.7. to 2.7.0, like recommended in this forum, and then I did the update to 2.8.2.

ok, there is an old entry from 2.6. in your database:

table: addons  field: directory  value: 'reload'

delete this entry and it should be ok.

thanks darkviper, but the template problem isn´t solved. Only the reload addons option in the admin-tools now isn´t available anymore.

If this is a big problem: I won´t mind to make a new installation, if I could be sure that I can load and use the old database with all its entries....

... and now there is only the default template running, the pages which had formerly assigned another template now also display default.

Hallo,

das upgraden von 2.6.x auf 2.8.1 muss zwingend nach den Anleitungen hier erfolgen:

http://www.websitebaker2.org/de/download/neueste-version/upgrade.php

Hi,
From a fresh install 282, I began to build some pages.
Then, I run the fixes files + upgrade-script. All was ok.

Now from the content settings page, if I wan to change the template for one of my templates I've just uploaded, it doesn't work. It works only with Default_template and Round template (I've deleted the others).

I must say, in the WB General Settings, I can assign any of the templates from the drop down list, so at this level, it works, but it doesn't work at the page level.

Any idea ?

More derails from my previous post.
As I click update to change the template for my page, the message is OK in green but in the dropdown menu, it's not changed.
In the Page table of the DB, the template column is changed by the right name template.
So I think, it's a view problem maybe ?

Regards

Hello,

please try the following:

Go to "Add-Ons", hit "Advanced" in the top right corner and then "Reload" all Templates, Modules and languages.

This cleanes tha database from non present templates. Now you should be able to choose all installed templates and they should all work.

Hello Matthias,

I've tried many things including yours but it doesn't work.
I've uninstalled then reinstalled all my templates and I'm still not able to change the page template.
One thing weird is, in Addons > Details of the template, each time I choose one of my templates to see the infos and click Details, the details are not showing, it's stays on the same page show.
Anybody had this ? An idea ?
Thanks

Hello,

1.) wich permission has your template folder? Is there write access for php-scripts? Maybe you forgot to adapt the permissions after uploading WB with FTP. Was all green when you called the installer?

2.) How is the structure of your templates? wich files and folders are there?

Hi,

When I save the settings page witha new template , I always have the green box with the successfull message. No problem.
When I look in the Page table of the db, the template column has been updated with the one I chose from the backend. No problem.
When I refresh my page on frontend and watch the source code, it's not the good template which is called but the template defined by defaut. Problem.
The permission of the /templates folder is 705 and my own templates folder inside too.
In my templates, I've added a variable WB_URL_xx for each country and put it in the config file as in WB281. No problem. I run in HTML4.
When I've uploaded WB282, I never changed any permission folder. Yes, all was green after installing WB282.
I must say I ran the fixes after installing the script and after creating my first pages. But it's told it can be done after the install

Thanks

Hello,

I've just fixed my problem. It's in the info file. In the first field template_directory I had named my template with hyphens for example : xx-yy-zz. When I installed it, it created the xx-yy-zz folder. No problem.
But in the db, I've noticed the colum template was named xxyyzz instead of xx-yy-zz so it couln't recognize the name.
I think there's a php function that deleted the hyphens ?
I 've fixed my problem in naming xxyyzz without hyphens and that's it.

Cheers

Finally I solved my upgrade problems.

The main one was my fault, I had uploaded the zip file and extracted the files on my server. This DOES NOT WORK!

Like Matthias said you HAVE to upload the uncompressed files and folders by FTP to your server to keep the permissions intact.

For the templates you must remove any - or . characters and replace them by an underscore in the info.php file of each problem template. After that reload the templates through advanced and upgrade the sql databases.

I want to thank everybody who took some of their time to help me, it is really appreciated.

By the way I tested over 30 CMS and Websitebaker is the easiest by far. Keep up the good work.
