I have used phpBB before and mostly it was very good for what I desire - but in trying to modify it for my needs I broke it so badly that it simply could not be fixed and gave up on that effort after a while.

But...IF:
If...I could make phpBB part of a WB-based site, AND somehow also make it 100% ....invisible....  to anyone BUT me, that would be perfect I think !

Is there any way to add what has been told to me is a 'forum wrapper' for phpBB - but also to make that entire portion of the site quite literally invisible and very secure so that anyone attempting to visit the page 'mysite.com/forum/' ONLY sees a demand for a log-in and NOT the front page of the installed phpBB ?

[EDIT by admin: please use only text and smilies. Use other markup, colors, moving stuff, etc only if it serves a purpose. Your message looked like a website from 1990 with all those redundant markup... Please keep it serious and business like here.]

There is no "forum wrapper". Use the normal wrapper module for that (it's just an iframe actually). You can put the wrapper page behind a login. But the forum is not part of the site, it just hides within an iframe. But of course you don't need WB just to "hide" a forum...

Thanks.
I used the phrase "forum wrapper" because before I knew it even existed another user here told me of those exact words, which in my ignorance I simply re-used.

I was delighted to see that WB has it's own add-ons for forums too, but apparently those aren't so good according to other users here...

I do know that a forum is it's own, separate animal when it comes to using a CMS.

I have also visited and joined forums which require what I'd have to call a double log-in; and this seems like it would be a very good idea for my privacy needs - but I have no idea how to implement it.

What I am trying to describe goes like this:
Upon arrival at the forum's URL there is an authentication with a blank page; it then allow access to the forum itself which also requires the user to log in.

To my eye the above resembles some sort of .HTACCESS trick, but I have not been able to get it's exact details.

I very much like the idea of good, multi-level log-in for privacy/security and if/when anyone fails authentication they get a forced redirect to...Google perhaps ?

Thanks !
