I have a website with the aim of letting some less technical users maintain their content.  One issue we have is that they are treating the Wysiwyg editor as they would MS Word the result is they are pasting graphics into the section which all looks great when they save it.  However, the graphics are not uploaded to anywhere in the site so hence end up broken when anyone browses the website.

Is there anyway to either:
1. Prevent users pasting in graphics and causing grief OR
2. Better some way of ensuring that FCKEditor actually saves the graphic to a directory on the website somewhere making it accessible.

I've browsed the site to try and find an answer without success so apologies if this duplicates another post.

I fear, there is no solution for this problem - and there never will be, because this would be a heavy security risk - if a website could grab files from your harddisk...

The users have to upload the pictures to the media-folder and then integrate them.
It isn't the best way way to insert content from Word anyway. One always should use the "tidy-up" functions or use the windows editor to clean up the text.

It is rather as I suspected, however, it would be better if I could some disable FCKEditor from appearing to accept  a graphic from being pasted in and force the only entry method to be for the users to:

1. upload to a media folder
2. Insert the image using the image button browsing to graphic in the media folder.

Unfortunatley this is not part of the standard configuration options of FCK ... and outside the scope of this forum, you might want to check with the FCK Support if they have anything they can suggest to you.

I wouldn't be too surprised if you can not stop that at all. What you can stop is "paste from word" or activeate "forcepasteastext" to remove any formatting. But that does not help you in you current situation. wink

cheers
