Cannot create new page

I have version 2.8.1

I created a page then deleted it to run a new module on it. I try to create the page again with the previous name and now it says "A page with the same or similar title exists"

How do i fix this?

Go to the "pages" folder in the website directory and see if the page is still there.
Delete it if it is and try again.

I renamed a page and I see the original page is still there, so it might be the problem.
