Since you have a post count that indicates you are not a newbie, I presume you have all the permissions set right. So there probably is something more complex going on, and you will have to give us a lot more details, like PurpleEdge said.

A link to the site may help, a link to php.info may help. Telling us what you have tried so far may help.
Are the sites on a hosting server you used before? If so, is something different or changed compared to other sites?

I think that would make it easier Cheesy

So far I have checked the log files but I couldn't find anything there...

This is my first wb website on this server, but when I copied this site to another server (on which I run 10+ wb websites, which all work fine) it still didn't work, but the strange thing is it worked fine (on the new server) untill last Thursday...

huh

Hm... WB is primarily meant for Linux servers, not Windows. But more important: both PHP and MySQL don't meet the minimum requirements for WB2.8

I don't know, I'm not a developer or server guy, but I think the minimum requirements should be met. They must be there for a reason...

What exactly is the problem?

Can you get into the admin backend?

Can you see a list of pages?

What happens if you try to add a page?

Do you have Error Reporting turned on from the Settings Page so you can see any errors reported?

I saw the site had pages and presumed you had fixed the problem? If the site is working to display pages from the database then I think there must be a specific issue, but we can't see from here  smiley

If you have moved this site from another server, it could be a problem with file ownership. It's best to compare another WB site on the same server with this problem site. Look on the server at the owner of the files. For example the owner is "apache" or something else. If the file owners differ on the two sites, than there is a problem. But also make sure you meet the minimum WB requirements.

I now know almost certainly that it is caused by wrong file user settings!

In Settings what values do you have for Operating System?

You are running Linux under Windows?

Try setting ownership to 0777 ?

Sorry, I am guessing too, but I have a Linux/Windows test server and haven't seen this if the OS is set to Linux.

FYI: He already said he uses Windows. And 777 is not related to ownership, but to permissions.

Problem solved!

The website was moved from one server to another by the hosting company, and they didn't copy the file permissions  cheesy
