Image Gallery 2 with Fancybox?

Has anyone done a mod of Image Gallery 2 to use JQuery Fancybox? It would be good to be able to call a Fancybox enlargement when clicking a thumbnail as an option instead of seeing a new 'large image' page. Previous and next would need to work in the fancybox display to be nicely integrated. Looks like the Image Gallery module 'view.php' page amongst others would have to be altered to get this to work... ideas? / tips?

I think we just used Brax Highslide FancyBox module on this page...

Have you been to AMAST to have a look at the different galleries?
