(core) News Module: Some suggestions/questions

After developing some sites I now also am busy filling a site with data (based upon the old site) and during the data copying I discovered some point regarding the news module, like:

• Possibility to show news sorted per group;

Just as currently is possible for the bookmarks module. There you can also display bookmarks per group
[li]Possibility to search for news posts;[/li]
Now only a link to the main newspage is shown in the search and not to the specific newspost (which is very annoying)
[li]Ability to change the post date;[/li]
You can show a post date, but this is always the last modified date. It would be nicer if this can be made adjustable
[li]Layou update on the 'modify settings' section;[/li]
The settings area is not very clear (to me). Like: Header, post loop, footer, post header and post footer. There is also no room to make it possible to modify the 'per group' layout. Furthermore

Will some of these options (especially: grouping and searching) be updated or does the news module will never be updated anymore since WB3 is comming??

Note: I have created a ticket about the above mentioned points. Furthermore I know that there is an extened module for the news, but according to me the above mentioned features should be part of the core module of website baker.

See this thread. It contains some information about the extended module. The disadvantage of that module is according to me that it adds new tables and that is something I don't want.

If possible I would like to add something like the following to my news posts:
