Hi

Some time ago I played with  WB on my local server but I remouved all  during a pc-format

now I discover WB portable edition (fantastic) and I woult reistall WB on my local server
( Win XP2 + WAMPP ) to excancge the data  but I can't reinstall  the program on the local server

the local server sems to be ok
I test it with the usual
<?php phpinfo() ; ?>

but  I don't know how to test better the system

when I install WB I receive a message like this:
error on apache HPTT server the application will be closed

in an other place I  can see
page web non available :  http://localhost/wb/install/save.php
the page can not to be temporary available or moved

the actual position of the file is : wb/install/save.php

I reinstalled  many time WAMPP and WB and I used Explorer8 and Chrome but the result is always wrong.

Is it possible to solve the problem?

thanks a lot

WB portable edition is a "localhost" server, similar to a local WAMPP installation.
You will be in trouble trying to install a WAMPP and WB Portable together (the result will probably be that one of the http servers will close).

Testing in "another place" will not be possible. Localhost is the machine you are using. There is only one localhost.

Hi

I didn't know that but  I'm not been clear with my  informations .
Now the portable edition is not active on the PC

to avoid any conflict , before to install WAMP and WB,  I already remouved  the usb pen with the portable edition  and  restarted the system .

Now I can say that wamp is correctly  installed because I have installed Wordpress and it is fine working ( but i don't  want  it  embarassed    sorry but i don' like  )

I also remouved Delicious that sometime it creates problem with explorer but i think the problem is not in explorer because I have the same problem with Chrome.

thanks

szModVer : 5.3.0.0     offset : 00002072

Are you shure WAMP uses the standard port (80) for the HTTP traffic? I seem to remember that is doesn't. Please check the port is different ... please check the httpd.conf of your WAMP installation.

cheers

in the last days I  translated the main part of  help tutor and I followed all the instructions.

I have checked all I can do but I'm sorry, I'm not expert with servers.

this is part of my file
C:\wamp\bin\apache\Apache2.2.11\conf\httpd.conf

is'it correct this one or  I have to chek in an other place?

# Listen: Allows you to bind Apache to specific IP addresses and/or
# ports, instead of the default. See also the <VirtualHost>
# directive.
#
# Change this to Listen on specific IP addresses as shown below to
# prevent Apache from glomming onto all bound IP addresses.
#
#Listen 12.34.56.78:80
Listen 80

wampserver is installed as standard version , I have not changed anything

Btw:
anyone is interested in seeing my translation?

Ciao

Anything else (Webserver) running on your system? I know there are quite some issues reported here with WAMP, I would suggest XAMPP as replacement ...

cheers

Your error is described in the wamp forum, and also in PHP and MySql forums.
It seems that php 5.3.0 has some issues with closing mySql connections the way WB (and a lot of others) does.

Try downgrading php to a lower version (I am using wamp with 5.2.6 without issues). That should solve things.
