Captcha Module not working with images

Hi...

I've tried searching the forum, but can't find anything, so apologies if this thread is a duplicate...


I'm using version 2.8.1, Captcha verification works when i select 'calculation as text', but none of the options with images are functioning.

I get this message, which is as if the captcha field wasn't filled in, so obviously it isn't detecting the textfield.

The verification number (also known as Captcha) that you entered is incorrect.

Is this a common problem?

Is there anything I need to do to get this working ?

this is from a fresh install, straight of the box so seems strange that it shouldn't work

Where do you use it? Form ("classic" form module or MPForm), News (comments), guestbook...?

maybe gd library is not working on the server.. You shuld ask your host provider or google how to test if gd library is really working..

I have the same problem. The captcha does not show when installed the same site on Centos.

Where can I check for the error? simply the image is broken on the site and I do not know how

yum reports that I have the latest version of gd

After looking I can see the following error if I open the captcha in a different window

any idea?

That would mean, that the functions are not loaded by PHP ... so check following please: http://de.php.net/manual/en/function.phpinfo.php
