Hi Everyone

I could really do with some help regarding links.

I am in the process of transfering an existing website into website baker but the site wants to keep all the menu links they have on the original site because they have great google ratings.

Here is and example of what i mean if i can explain it right!!

On the original site they have a drop down menu with a heading ABOUT. The about page points to www.test.com/about_us.php then under the drop down they have another menu heading called contact which points to www.test.com/contact.php.

But when i put all this together in website baker i can get the about_us.php page showing correctly but when it comes to the contact page it shows up as www.test.com/about-us/contact.php.

I know its because about_us page is the parent of contact but is there any way to have www.test.com/contact.php.

Phew hope that makes sense

Cheers

Rach

What I do when I move something is just create a Menu Link in the location of the original, set it to Hidden, type set to 301 redirect and then point it to the new location. So create a Menu Link in the top level so it is www.test.com/contact.php, make it hidden, redirect to new location www.test.com/about-us/contact.php. Anyone coming to this high ranking older link will be transparently sent to the new one. It is believed that Google does not penalize for these 301 redirects.

Hope I understood correctly, firing this off from work.
