Link to pre-existing page section

Hi everybody,

I'm working on a site and my template makes use of content blocks. Is there a way to link a content block to an already existing section so that the data can be shared between multiple pages? For example, let's say I have a side column showing news postings and I want those news to be shared between multiple pages. Is there a pre-existing solution to that problem or would it be possible for me to code a module (page-internal wrapper) for that purpose?
