None of my sites require multiple language support.  I notice that there are a LOT of image files associated with the flags used for language support.  Will it mess up my install if I delete all of these flag image files locally before ftp upload and install of Websitebaker?

right now there are 23 different languages available. In newest release(SVN) the number of flags is reduced to  this 23 corresponding flags for each theme..
The whole WB-setup includes around 2300 Files...  so you will save about 1% of time to upload.

Anyway, without worries you can delete each flag.png where no corresponding languagefile exists. (about 210 files each theme)

Thanks for the response.  And yes, I guess it is silly to think the few flag image files would make an impact on upload time.  I guess I should be asking, can I remove ALL language related files (other than English) without causing problems down the road?  I'm starting to think the whole idea is more work than it would be worth.  But it was something I have thought about, so I thought I'd ask.

Hi,

as far as I know you can remove all unused language files (flags + ##.php) without any trouble.
Another way downsizing the initial installation is to remove FCKeditor, which has for itself already about 1000 files, and install it afterwards, because you have to update it nevertheless (or, better, install CKEditor instead).

Furthermore you can remove the complete WB classic backend theme, and all templates except "round" if you don't need them ("blank", "simple", "allcss2").
So this way you'll have only roundabout 900 files to copy.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm curious about you comment concerning FCKeditor, "because you have to update it nevertheless".  I am not aware of this requirement.

Also, I was under the impression that CKeditor was not stable yet (still RC).

Can you expand?

Hi sky writer,

in the installation package is FCK 2.9.4, but there's 2.9.5 in AMASP available. Maybe it's not such an important update.
CKEditor runs quite stable and is already listed in the module repository, but you're right, it's still RC.

What's the benefit of CKeditor over FCKeditor?
I use the flv player heavily on one of my sites.  Does CKeditor include this as well?

Typically I remove a lot of files before FTP'ing to a new domain. And even though the flag images are small, they take almost the same time to upload as far bigger files. So removing them and also themes you won't use saves a lot of time. Because I use Argos Theme I even remove the default themes and templates except for a few files needed for installing WB. In install.php you can see exeactly which files are checked by the installation procedure. You can probably even remove the checks, but I never tried that.

It would be a nice feature if the install page would ask which files you want to upload. So choose your default frontend and backend themes (most users use their own frontend templates anyway), upload editor or not, upload multilanguage files or not, etc.
