When attempting to upload a template one of two things happen
1. I recieve the message "Cannot upload file" "Back"
2. A blank screen appears.

This has only just started to happen.
I have deleted all files from the server.
Deleted the entire database.
Installed completly from scratch and it still happens.

All files & folders have full rights 777
Have tried using IE8
Firefox 3.6.8
Opera 10.61

I am at a loss.
Any ideas.

Hi pauloc,

That can be a very frustrating. However it sounds like it might be a permissions problem. Check the following post for some helpful information:

http://www.websitebaker2.org/forum/index.php/topic,18526.msg123505.html#msg123505

It has helped me on several occasions when I had similar problem.

With best regards,

Michael

Thanks for the info.
I have changes all permissions as described in the article, but it still does not work.
When I relook at the permissions in the temp folder they show 0644 even tough they were set as 0666.
All very strange.

The module I am trying to upload appears in the temp folder as a zip so at least one part of the process works.
Do you have any idea how to manually upload modules?

Thanks
Paul

Michael and others

A bit more info.
When I attempt to install a new module for the first time it appears in the temp folder while the WebsiteBaker page is blank.
If I try a second time, with the file existing in the temp folder then WebsiteBaker returns the message unable to upload file.

So the file gets up but is not being extracted.

Hi Pauloc,

I just uploaded a tool called WebsiteBaker Fix Permissions which should help you resolve the problem. Check it out at:

http://www.websitebaker2.org/forum/index.php/topic,19268.msg129174.html#msg129174

Let me know if it helps.

With best regards,

Michael

Michael

I have uploaded and run the file.
It failed on every line.
Your file is still in the root.

If I send you the admin password by email can you check it out?

Thanks

Below is the reply from my Hosting company

Hi Paul,

It appears that files are being created within your hosting space via
php and when this occurs ownership is assigned to the apache server
rather than the FTP user.

This subsequently prevents you from amending permissions on those via
via FTP.

I've corrected all file ownership once more and have amended the file
permissions recursively on the temp folder via FTP [using filezilla]
without trouble.

Please try changing any other file permissions as you require and if you
have any further trouble please let me know the specific details.

Kind regards,

I still cannot install modules.
The first time I try after the hoster sent the above message website baker displayed the message unable to upload file, the second time I receive a blank screen.

You will also get that error is the "temp" folder doesn't exist.
