I'm working on a flexible universal oneclick sign-on/registration (ex, facebook connect, openid etc) class/system for easy integration with existing systems and are thinking of using good old WB for the first experiment. I'm now studying the core and wondered if any of you have an idea of how to provoke a login/validation/registration using something like a type of variable injection to maintain core functionality with minimal to none core changes.

As I'm new to the core part of WB i hoped some of you with more core experience knew of a safe way in or if its even possible to do without extensive core changes.

At the moment it looks like I have to go for a custom _POST for login but with registration and validation looks like it needs extensive core changes.

so it is.
Right now, in 2.8series, it's nearly impossible to implement such a service in a secure way.
But we work on...  wink
In one of the future releases we will recode the login completely, as we have done with some other parts of the core already. Then you will find too a usable interface for external authentification systems.

Then it's a challenge. Think i got the log-in and validation partly covered but the registration part is next. If my current theory works it will at least end up with a "temporary user" mode within a predefined group. ( for commenting etc. )
