Hey guys I know there is a module that enable the user to click on edit page and be taken through to the back end to edit the page but is there any way that the edit text area can be displayed on the front end on login so that as the admin user navigates the site they see how it looks from front end and can edit and save without having to go through to the back end?

Just need to know if there is something already in place or if any one wants to help me make something, it would be a very user friendly function.

Hi,

I based a whole project on frontedit but at this point it is still under construction and not ready for publishing.. I made it using various jquery demos.

you can see one of them here: http://www.appelsiini.net/projects/jeditable/default.html

Its made with jquery, and you can edit simple textarea..(In my project you can even include wysiwyg editor..)

BUT, you cant edit news and other modules, but simple textarea..

cheers

Data-table http://www.websitebakers.com/pages/modules/interaction/data-table.php is frontend editable, even though is is for tables instead of textarea.  It uses some code form the edit page snippet to handle the logged in issues.  You might find some useful bits in the code.
