Hello,

I'm using the standard news module. I have set page_content(2) into my template and put $block[3]='News'; in info.php. Then i create a new page news with the type news v3.5. i managed the section and change the block to news.

just like the manual explained to me. But when i add a news post i doesn't see it on my website. I have read this forum and i read that you must use anynews code. When i use this i see actually see the post but that's it. When i press the link read more, nothing happens.

Since News is $block[3], try using page_content(3) instead of page_content(2).

Best regards,

Michael

I just like a news column without a news option in the main menu. Is this possible ? I thought it was but i'm not successful yet. Maybe someone can help me with this issue.

Thanks in advance.

If you want, you can set the page where news are to be hidden. That way it want be visible in menu.

Also, you can define new menu in your template, and assign news page to it. Then you can use any news snippet to fetch the news somewhere..

cheers

Thanks for your answer. Can you also show the news by using the option page_content(2), if you set the $block[2]=News, because when i try that, wb doesn't show anything.

In the back end (the admin site) of your website:
  • Click the Settings link near the top of the page
  • Click the Show Advanced Settings button (any one of them)

In the General Settings section, make sure Manage Sections and Section Blocks are both enabled and save. Double check to ensure that the settings were save.

This should enable your additional blocks.

Best regards,

Michael
