Hello All,

I am looking for something, but i can't find it. Good chance i am looking for the wrong keywords or have the wrong concept in my mind. Maybe you can give me some pointers in the right direction?

What i would like to do is create a news page on my website. And i want people to be able to subscribe that page, so that if i post a new item, they get a message about the new news item.

I use groups and have people register to acquire a password to access certain parts of the website.

What should i look at for this type of solution? I looked at Massmail and the news-module. But thses don't seem to have what i am looking for.

Thanks for you help!
Robin.

After some extra days of searching i still haven't found what i am looking for. Was able to use RSS News Feeder in combination with Nes 3.5, so people can at least subscribe to my news-page with RSS. Stil a shame that it is not possible to do a simple integration with the mass-mail module... If i could program PHP i would give it a try at making one myself...

Cheers,
Robin.

I haven't used the newsletter module, but the description seems to match your needs - what doesn't it do that you want?

Hello PurpleEdge,

Thanks for your reply. The newsletter module is only used to let people subscribe to the massmail module (mailinglist). But i don't intent to send out complete mailinglists, just a signal that something has been updated on the site. I use a personal site, publishing photo's for family and friends, would love to let them know if something is changed.

I will have a look at massmail once more just to be sure, but i don't think it is able to integrate into the standard news module.

Cheers, Robin.

Why don't you use a rss feeder for the news module?
It is  already implemented in the module.

Or try a sepearte rss-module.

Search for rss on AMASP

Hi Robin,

I take it you realised already that there is no module for what you would like to achive. We do not have a News to Mail gateway / module available where the user gets a mail automatically whenever you post a new article.

cheers

Hello Klause  Erpe,

Yep found out it isn't here yet. I use the RSS option, offcourse, but considering the website users, most won't have that in place (RSS reader i.e.) to be able to use it. But maybe someday we will have such an add-on to the news-module. I am an optimist Smiley

Cheers, Robin.
