When calling the upgrade script I get this error.

Upgrade existings postfiles to new format

Template Error: set_root: /pathtosite/templates/DEFAULT_THEME/templates is not a directory.
Halted.

The error message now have changed to:
Template Error: set_root: /pathtosite/templates//templates is not a directory.

Back to the first one again. I uploaded all the files again and installed a backup of the database. Then I ran the update script again edit same error:
Template Error: set_root: /pathtosite/templates/DEFAULT_THEME/templates is not a directory.
Halted.

I can login to the backend, but in settings I can not set the Backend-Theme. Its greyed out.

and the directory /templates/wb_theme/templates is there and populated by a bunch of files.

simply restart upgrade again,,, this should solve your problem
