Author Topic: Can I set my site to 'under construction'  (Read 561 times)

I'm new to WB and while I'm building my site I don't want the pages visible to the public or search engines until I have finished building it. Apart from changing permissions on all the pages is there a global option to hide the site from the search engines and the public that I can turn on?

Help appreciated

Go to "Settings" and activate Introduction page
Then go to the page overview, open the Introduction page and type 'Website under construction' for instance.

Hi,

there is no way to switch off a whole WB site, because WB has no staging view.

The only way is to use the template attached as default template - so if you klick on a page in the frontend, there will just the text "under construction" be displayed, but you can nevertheless enter the content of the page via WB backend.

When you have finished, you switch back to the normal template.
But if you need a preview of your site and/or use different templates, then protecting your site via htaccess is the better way.
