I would not delete old modules, they can be additionaly coded to support current WB version, or they can  be the starting point. So if there would be ever a voting for this, I vote against deletion Smiley

The most important thing is that core is safe, and all modules are used at own risk Smiley Nobody can guarantee for open source Smiley

cheers

There is a sense to use the fixed backup-module and not phpMyAdmin. Using phpMyAdmin, you need access to the complete webspace or admin access to your hosters package. Having the backup-module within websitebaker, only the admin-login of the website is neccessary. Together with the tool wbdownload  http://www.websitebaker2.org/forum/index.php/topic,16231.0.html it is quite easy to get a consitent snapshot of the site. So not so experienced end-users will make the backup. Restoring all is for us off course no problem but a big problem for the enduser. It is not so often neccessary making a restore, but is a good idea to make very often a backup. So thanks a lot for the bugfix. smiley

While we are waiting for the complete rewrite of the backup module, you might want to checkout an enhanced version of the fixed backup module. The main new feature is the ability to backup your files. Check it out at:
http://www.websitebaker2.org/forum/index.php/topic,18902.new.html

As with all Open Source stuff on the Net, use at your own risk.

Hallo Michael,
thanks for your great work. I tried it immediately and, how can it be, I found some problems. I tried to save the data of a site, that contains some 100MB of data. I saw, it generated a zip-file called websitebaker.zip in the root of the site. But then I got a error message

So I think the time for generating the zip-file is perhaps too big.

A great thing was, if it was possible to include the sql-file in this zipfile and if it was possible to send a url including username and password, that starts the backup automatically.

Anyway, that's the right way.  smiley

Thank you for your feedback Klaus.

With regards to very large file backup issue, I have attempted to address this by increasing the timeout of the PHP script. You can find an updated version of the module and more details at:

http://www.websitebaker2.org/forum/index.php/topic,18902.msg126284.html#msg126284

Hope this helps.

Hallo Michael,

off course I imediately tried it. But it's a pitty, the server ingnores the increased timeout. Could it be possible to start the download and then repeat loading a page, that checks, whether the websitebaker.zip exists and if yes start download ? The tests, that I did, were done on a local server. Now I tried to install it on a real webserver in the internet. On this server the option "Backup all files (database not included)" is grey. Do you know why ? Anyway, is it possible to provide the option "Backup all files (database included)" ? To do this, it would be neccessary first to save the sql-file in the root of the webspace, then create the websitebaker.zip and then delete websitebaker.zip and sql.file.

Kind greez,

Klaus

I'm not sure that it is a timeout issue. See the error message:

Die Dateien unter http://server/modules/backup/backup-sql.php konnten nicht gefunden werden.

It seems that the Backup either treats "backup-sql.php" as a folder (!), or has problems to backup itself while it is running.

So try to exclude the Backup module from the backup to fix this issue.

Hallo Blackbird,

In my case the websitebaker.zip is generated correctly (including the backup-sql.php) but before the download starts, I get the errormessage.
