Hello WB Users, i started using WB a while back, however was disappointed to see no support for secure web pages. I searched and searched, however could not find any usful information.

This lead me to dive into the code of WB 2.8.1 RC2 at the time, and see what i could do.

I managed to change some settings around, to give the option of a page being secure or none secure in the administration panel, as well as change some backend files to change internal links to https or http depending on this setting.

This modification was quite simple, but a lot of line changes, so before posting it, i want to ensure people are interested. Also, need to ensure im posting in the right board.

Well, I'm mucho interested!

I've got several WB websites now running completey under SSL. And that sucks because then the sites are slower and within search engines a good ranking is a complete crime.

For a few months ago I posted a topic regarding SSL and if it was possible to enable just the pages you would like. But that seemed a problem.

So if you really have the solution then that is really a blast and the holy grale of websites with Bakery!

Ok, instead of writing all the changes in a post here, i've added an attachment with the Convert IT report changes between the 2.8.1 RC2 branch and my changes for SSL.

To make sure the changes work, you need to add a new field to the pages database

Field securepage
Type INT
Default 0

If you load up the files, you can clearly see the changes. The code line number may be different in earlier or later releases, although a quick search on the nearing code show locate where the lines need to go.

Any problems, just ask and i'll try and answer them.

PS. I can not be held responsable for third party modules working with this mod. If they dont, let me know and i can see if i can help. Majority of problems come down to the WBURL prefix in the main code. As you will see in some of the changes i have made, i have had to remove this.

Not a problem, now i can start working on my next modification for changing the way urls are used to make WB more SEO friendly (well, more friendly than it already is)

In the admin panel, if you go into a page settings, their will be a new dropdown menu for Secure or None Secure.

Are you using the wb_theme admin theme?

In the report, the \wb_theme\templates\pages_settings.htt.htm change is for the wb_theme. If your using a different admin theme, you need to make the changes to that themes page_settings.htt file.

What I did:

- Did a fresh 2.8.1. Revision 1287 install with the wb_theme as admin template
- uploaded your files
- reload all
- create a page

No change at all

Hi, the files in my archive are reports. you load them into IE or Firefox and they show the differences between the old code and my changes. - You cant just upload the files, you need to physically change the lines in the original files.

Your changes referers to the RC2 version which is not the final stable version.

Besides that some files cannot be changed because some files of the final version do not match the files you changed.

I would suggest you take the final version, change the files, zip them so we can download and upload them for testing.
